Warner Bros. has released a new trailer and poster for its upcoming DC Films movie “Wonder Woman.” The trailer shows the pre-Justice League hero navigating the tense, high-society atmosphere of Europe during World War I, juxtaposed with scenes of her on the battlefield, using her shield to deflect bullets, plowing through the solid brick wall of an abandoned church and deflecting all manner of threats with her iconic bracelets.
The trailer also offers another glimpse at one of Wonder Woman’s longtime adversaries, the masked Doctor Poison who, in the comics, was an enemy spy who used deadly concoctions to wreak havoc on innocent lives. She will be played by Elena Anaya in “Wonder Woman.” Mystical elements also play a larger role in the new trailer, which shows Wonder Woman sending out a massive energy blast using her bracers. Using those same bracers, she defends against an incoming beam of concentrated lightning.
The new poster, debuting via Gal Gadot's Twitter account, shows Wonder Woman charging through a hectic, trench battlefield, deflecting incoming projectiles with her bracers, which seem to be getting as much use as her shield.
Debuting in theaters on June 2, “Wonder Woman” is a production of DC Films directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Said Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner and David Thewlis.
