Wonder Woman to Pass BvS, Becoming Top DCEU Film Domestically

Wonder Woman has enjoyed a blockbuster theatrical run, breaking the record for best opening weekend by a female director and becoming the most-tweeted movie of 2017. More recently, it crossed the $300-million mark domestically, surpassing Man of Steel's U.S. total. Now, the Patty Jenkins film is poised to break another record as becomes the top-grossing DC Extended Universe release in North America.

According to Box Office Guru editor Gitesh Pandya, Wonder Woman pulled in $3.9 million Tuesday, bringing its domestic haul to $325.1 million -- enough to inch past Suicide Squad. As early as Thursday, the film will surpass Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($330.4 million) to lead the DCEU.

Wonder Woman opened domestically with $103. 2 million, exceeding early projections yet earning less in its first weekend than the previous three DCEU releases. However, fueled by positive reviews and strong word of mouth, the film has experienced a more gradual decline in box-office receipts than its predecessors.
