Like it is with Superman, Wonder Woman is another superhero who has a clean image, being known for always doing what’s right. And yet, not only has she done several things that can be considered evil, she’s made them worse by doing them in shameless ways.
Although some of these occasions either had an alternate Wonder Woman or when she was misguided, she still can’t be let off for what she did due to these being conscious decisions. More so than that, it’s the ill sentiment behind them that makes these actions so hard to stomach.
10 Blaming Her Teammates For Defeat And Abandoning Them
The lack of honor in defeat would have put Diana’s mother to shame here for sure. In Justice League, she and her teammates were in the middle of personal issues that caused them to lose to the Legion of Doom.
In this loss, Wonder Woman was responsible for distracting both Hawkgirl and Superman. However, she had choice words for the men in particular, before belittling the group at large. Not only didn’t she take responsibility, but she also walked out on the league itself, with the rest of the members following suit as well and temporarily disbanding the team.
9 Fighting For Batman's Love By Viciously Beating Batgirl
The Amazons would never dream of kissing up to a man, owing to their great pride in feminism. However, Wonder Woman sullied those ideals in Brave and the Bold #78, where she went so far as to clobber Batgirl to win the favor of Batman.
Although they initially pretended to be in love with Batman to fool the issue’s villain, the ladies genuinely developed these feelings. In their jealousy, Batgirl and Wonder Woman come to blows, and obviously the latter comes out on top. The price, though, was beating up her rival, all just to win the affections of some man.
8 Cause Devastation On Earth By Hooking Up With Superman
This happens to be one of the most bizarre things in comic book history. In The Dark Knight Strikes Again, after Superman loses to Batman in a fight, Wonder Woman arrives to comfort Superman. It then turns into a hook-up situation, which only gets weirder.
Due to their status as supremely powerful beings, their act of love ends up causing huge earthquakes, volcanoes ravaging the world, and cyclones causing calamity. It costs thousands of lives in the process, yet Wonder Woman shows no remorse in killing so many off!
7 Openly Antagonize Hawkgirl
While Hawkgirl deserved to be singled out for causing the Thanagarian Invasion in Justice League Unlimited, she did get punished for it. Unlike everyone else, though, Wonder Woman didn’t forgive her, instead taking to insulting her whenever she came across Hawkgirl.
This got to the point where Hawkgirl developed a depression for her guilt and loneliness, something that didn’t bother Wonder Woman since she continued to antagonize and belittle her. It was pretty much her bullying Hawkgirl, which was strikingly uncomfortable since Hawkgirl had been forgiven by the rest of the league.
6 Have An Affair With Aquaman
In the alternate universe of The Flashpoint Paradox, Wonder Woman was an evil figure who led an invasion of the UK. While that was a heinous act, the most shameless one would have to be how she stole another woman’s husband.
This man happened to be Aquaman, with whom Wonder Woman began an affair - in clear view of his wife Mera, no less. It appeared as if she liked flaunting this in the latter’s face, as when Mera confronted her over this, Wonder Woman simply killed her.
5 Attempt To Kill Toyman In Public
The code of the Justice League is to avoid killing others, including supervillains. However, when Toyman zapped Superman seemingly to his death, Wonder Woman threw the no-killing rule out the window. She even went so far as to tell Toyman that she was going to punch through his skull.
What makes this a shameless act is how they were all in public view, meaning bystanders would have seen her murder someone without remorse. This would have made the Justice League out to be cold-blooded vigilantes, and it was only because Flash stopped her that Wonder Woman didn’t go through with it.
4 Using The Lasso Of Truth As A Leash To Break Huntress's Neck
On this occasion, Wonder Woman did manage to kill someone in her anger, and though it was an accident, it was still all her fault. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, she threw a lasso around Huntress’ neck for siding with Batman over Superman, followed by a big tug on the rope.
This ended up killing Huntress, much to Wonder Woman’s shock. However, it’s the fact that she specifically chose to go for the neck rather than a non-vital body part that makes the act shameless. After all, it’s clear she meant to embarrass Huntress by turning the Lasso of Truth into a leash.
3 Become A Totalitarian Leader And Revel In It
After killing Lex Luthor in Justice League Unlimited, the alternate universe Superman managed to convince the entire league to turn into the Justice Lords, conducting a totalitarian regime on Earth. Wonder Woman was also at the center of these proceedings and partook in fooling the Justice League into captivity.
While the Justice Lords Batman, and to an extent their Superman, showed some remorse, this Wonder Woman had none of that. Instead, she happily defended her actions in essentially making mankind into slaves. What’s more, she displayed a sense of satisfaction when she came close to killing both Batman and the main universe Wonder Woman.
2 Consciously Avoid Saving People For A Century
Following the death of her beloved Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman abandoned all her philosophies to fight for good and retreated in self-imposed exile. While one might argue that it was her decision to retire, there’s also the fact that a lot of crimes and destruction could have been avoided had she stepped up. She didn't even intervene during World War II!
She was out for a century doing absolutely nothing when calamity struck, and the excuse for that is that she had lost faith in her abilities. However, she could clearly have made a difference in events such as Zod’s invasion, making her inaction something that lacked scruples.
1 Kill Children To Assert Her Dominance
During her streak of kills in The Flashpoint Paradox, Wonder Woman took to finishing off a bunch of superheroes. One of these was Captain Thunder (Shazam), who was a mixture of a group of kids in this reality.
After managing to beat the superhero and separating the children, Wonder Woman didn’t stop to soak in the victory. Instead, she decided to add insult to injury by outright killing Billy Batson; it’s implied she killed the other kids too. It was an evil act, but it was doubly shameless since an Amazon is meant to respect an opponent even in their defeat, yet Wonder Woman chose to commit murder.
