After months of rumors, photos that surfaced Sunday from the set of Warner Bros.' "Wonder Woman" appear to confirm that at least part of the film takes place during World War I.

The images, first published by the Daily Mail, show stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, as well as numerous extras, in period clothing on location in Essex, England.

Additional images capture era-specific props and signage, including military-recruitment posters.

The photos arrive about two weeks after a leaked snapshot first revealed Pine in period costume, lending credence to long-swirling rumors that "Wonder Woman" will take place in multiple eras, and fueling speculation that the actor will play both Steve Trevor and his grandfather.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, "Wonder Woman" also stars Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. The film opens June 23, 2017.
