Just in time for her big screen solo debut, DC's iconic Wonder Woman is set to score her own ride at Six Flags.
The company announced today that the Amazonian Princess will receive her own pendulum ride when Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth hits Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Sacramento, California later this year. The ride is capable of holding forty riders at a time, all seated on a large, metal disc attached to the ride's base by a long rod. Riders will soar through the skies at 70 miles per hour and plummet 15 stories numerous times.
The iconic heroine's popularity has been on the rise following actress Gal Gadot's debut as the Amazonian in last year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Next month's Wonder Woman will see Gadot reprise her role and help lead the Warrior Princess in her first ever solo film ahead of her appearance in DC Film's Justice League this November.
Directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), Wonder Woman tells the story of the Amazon princess who, after discovering the body of American fighter pilot Steve Trevor washed ashore on the mystical island of Themyscira, sets out to bring an early end to World War I. The film is currently tracking between $65 million and $100 million, with a clearer estimate expected in the coming weeks.
Opening June 2, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui and David Thewlis.
