WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Wonder Woman #755 by Steve Orlando, Vicente Cifuentes, Jesus Merino, Romulo Fajardo Jr. and Pat Brosseau, on sale now.

Wonder Woman has been one of comics' most distinguished heroes for decades now, and her adventures in comics, live-action movies and cartoons have highlighted just how strong Diana of Themyscira really is. As part of DC's Trinity - alongside Superman and Batman -- she's an inspiring icon, and there's not much that can take her down.

However, Wonder Woman #755 brings a new idea into Wonder Woman's world, and it could make her mission of keeping justice on Earth and across the entire cosmos much more difficult. This is due to the introduction of a new weapon that can weaken her severely: radion dust.

Wonder Woman Radion Dust

In this issue, Wonder Woman encounters the dust while fighting Paula von Gunther, the Warmaster. As she assembles her Horsewomen, the vengeful Paula makes it clear to Diana that she wants blood for the Amazons' past. Warmaster is after revenge in the name of the Valkyries, who the Amazons wiped out in a blood feud eons ago. More so, she's angry after Diana took her from them as a child and had her raised as Helen Price. Leviathan divulged as much to Paula, who now thinks she's been robbed of her birthright. Her minions, Armageddon and Devastation, are now battling Donna Troy, while Genocide's ready to take Boston out.

This is all as part of Warmaster's plan to leverage everything that Diana holds dear against her. It's all in exchange for her granting the villain passage to Themyscira, so Warmaster can bring the Amazon empire down. When Wonder Woman refuses to help other plans, the pair tussle. During the melee, Warmaster's mystical spear keeps Diana distracted long enough for her to unleash the radioactive dust.

Since it first appeared in Jack Kirby's Forever People #1, radion has been a toxic space substance, even to ultra-powerful New Gods. It was even used to make the bullet that killed Darkseid in Final Crisis. Now, it's being used against other deities, and Warmaster has the Amazons dead in her crosshairs.

Wonder Woman Warmaster

While Wonder Woman has never really had a weakness to something like kryptonite, a fair number of weapons have taken her out. We've witnessed magical beings like the Lords of Chaos and the Upside Down Man challenging her to the point of death, as well as galactic monsters like Doomsday and Mongul. There are also a ton of mystical weapons that villains like Ares have used, not to mention the Godkiller Sword that Cheetah almost killed her with. Various poisons, gases, her antiquated weakness to being tied up, the Lasso of Truth, and the inhibitive powers of her bracelets have all given Diana her fair share of defeats, but radion seems to affect her thanks to her divine mythological roots.

The radio dust immediately has an adverse effect, draining Diana's strength, keeping her sweating and dropping her to her knees. While there's no telling what other radion weapons Warmaster could make, she stole it from ARGUS, which suggests that the U.S. government could have been creating weapons to kill Wonder Woman as well in secret. But now, Warmaster has the weakened Diana pinned with a spear, and she's given her mere seconds to comply with her wishes. And unless she can figure out a way to beat Warmaster back, Diana could get another dose of radion dust very soon, and it could be lethal this time.
