Apparently, helming a Justice League film is of no interest to Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins, as she revealed in a recent interview.

While speaking with Premiere Magazine, Jenkins talked about watching superhero films growing up and how they may have influenced her as a director. "The point is, unlike other directors, I don't really care about shared universes, continuity, and that kind of detail," she said.

"I've been contacted to make a Justice League movie in the past, and it doesn't connect to me," Jenkins continued. "Too many characters." She didn't give any specifics about the Justice League film she was offered, or how it would have fit into DC's big screen continuity.

Jenkins is returning to helm Wonder Woman 1984 following 2017's Wonder Woman, which starred Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. 1984 is the ninth film set within the DCEU and will feature a screenplay written by Jenkins, Geoff Johns and David Callaham. While the film was previously meant to release in June, it will now premiere in August due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

As for DC's premiere superhero team, they will next appear in HBO Max's release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, which is set to feature many elements from Snyder's original vision that weren't shown in the theatrical version.
