It was recently revealed that Wonder Woman 1984's release date would be delayed yet again, this time moving from August to October. Now, director Patty Jenkins has shared some thoughts about the film's delay."Wish we were sharing our film yesterday but there are more important things going on in our world we'd rather you focus on for now," Jenkins shared in a recent Twitter post. She went on to thank the fans for their constant support, then added, "Sending love and healing to the world. Wonder Woman 1984 had first moved up from its originally intended release date of Dec. 2019 to Nov. 2019 before being delayed until June 2020. The film would receive its next delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, moving its June release date to August. Earlier this week, the film got its newest delay when Warner Bros. announced their decision to move the release date to October.

Following Wonder Woman 1984, Jenkins has mentioned plans for a third Wonder Woman film and a spin-off that would center around the Amazons of Themyscira.

Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film arrives in theaters Oct. 2.
