The Amazonian superheroine Wonder Woman, also known as Diana Prince, made her comic book debut in 1941's All-Star Comics #8. Diana was one of the first female superheroes to achieve mainstream success and is a respected figure amongst the DC Universe. She is a feminist icon and a founding member of the Justice League, as well as an integral character in DC Comics.

Steve Trevor is one of Wonder Woman's primary love interests from DC Comics. The character made his first appearance in All-Star Comics #8, which was released in 1941. Steve is one of the most important and iconic characters in the Wonder Woman universe, as he is the first person to introduce Diana to "Man's World."

Steve has remained a close friend, ally and love interest throughout comic book history. His character featured in the live-action Wonder Woman film, directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot as the titular character, where he was played by Chris Pine.

9 Donna Troy

Many DC heroes and heroines, including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, fight crime alongside a sidekick throughout their comic book history. Donna Troy was Diana's sidekick and the first character to don the Wonder Girl mantle. Her character was introduced in 1965's The Brave And The Bold vol.1 #60 to make Wonder Woman appear more maternal.

Donna, like Batman's Dick Grayson, is famous for her tenure with the Teen Titans. Her character features in the live-action Titans tv show, where she was played by Conor Leslie.

8 Hippolyta

Queen Hippolyta debuted in 1941 during the Golden Age of Comics Books and made her first appearance in All-Star Comics #8. Hippolyta is the mother of Diana and the ruler of Themyscira. She is a strong and proud Amazon who maintains order on the female-occupied Paradise Island.

Hippolyta's character, like Steve Trevor, was designed by Wonder Woman's creator, William Moulton Marston. She also appeared in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman film, where she was portrayed by Connie Nielsen.

7 Etta Candy

Etta Candy is often portrayed as the best friend of Diana Prince in DC Comics. Her character was introduced to the Wonder Woman continuity in 1942's Sensation Comics #2. Etta featured prominently in Diana's stories throughout the Golden Age as a refreshing female friend and sidekick.

Etta is well-known for her proud body image and impassioned persona. She also featured in the live-action movie as the secretary of Steve Trevor. Her character was portrayed on the big screen by actress Lucy Davis.

6 Artemis

Artemis of Bana-Mighdall is another Amazonian heroine who features prominently in the Wonder Woman comics. Her character made her first appearance in Wonder Woman vol.2 #90 in 1994 and was created by William Messner-Loebs and Mike Deodato.

Artemis is a member of an Egyptian tribe from the city of Bhana-Migdall, meaning "The Temple of Women." She encounters Diana after the superheroine discovers the second Amazonian city in the desert. Like Wonder Woman, she is highly skilled in combat and has superhuman strength and speed.

5 Circe

Circe is a recurring antagonist in the Wonder Woman comic books. She first appeared in 1949's Wonder Woman vol.1 #37. Her character has had many incarnations and hair colors throughout comic book history, but she remains one of Wonder Woman's deadliest and most powerful enemies.

Circe, like many Wonder Woman characters, is based on a mythological Greek figure and shares several similarities with her namesake. She is an immortal sorcerers renown for her stunning beauty as well as her skill for turning people into animals.

4 Cheetah

Cheetah could be regarded as Wonder Woman's ultimate foe, playing a similar role in Diana's story to The Joker or Lex Luthor. She first appeared in Wonder Woman #6, which was released in 1943, as a foil and antithesis to the Amazonian superheroine.

Cheetah has had different adaptations throughout comic book history, but her current incarnation as Barbara Ann Minerva is arguably her most well-known. She is set to appear in Wonder Woman 1984, where she will be played by Kristen Wiig.

Mala is a prominent member of the Amazons and one of Wonder Woman's best friends from Themyscira. The character was introduced in 1941's All-Star Comics #8, where she was present when Diana discovered and rescued Steve Trevor from the ocean.

Mala was a recurring character during the Golden Age of Comics Books. Like many other DC heroes and heroines, her character was later revamped. Another character called Mala, a member of the Bana-Mighdall tribe was introduced in 1994's Wonder Woman vol. 2.

Phillipus is another Amazonian warrior from the Wonder Woman comic books. She first appeared in Wonder Woman #1, which was released in 1987. She is the General of the Amazons and a formidable fighter who helped train Diana in combat during her youth.

Phillipus is one of Queen Hippolyta's most trusted advisors and one of the most skilled warriors on Paradise Island. Following the DC Rebirth reboot, she became romantically involved with her queen, Hippolyta.

Ares is another recurring character in the Wonder Woman comic books, as well as one of Diana Prince's main antagonists. The character first appeared in 1941's Wonder Woman #1 as the Greek god of war. Ares is a formidable foe who provides a mighty challenge for Diana throughout the comics.

Ares was another iconic supporting characters from the Wonder Woman comics to be adapted for live-action in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman. The god of war was played by David Thewlis, who also played Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter movies. Ares proved to be the ultimate villain in the film and was defeated in the final act by Diana.
