Wonder Woman is arguably the most badass superhero in the DC Universe. Aside from being a warrior princess imbued with God-like powers, she’s managed to fight Superman to a standstill and even has the battle savvy to get the drop on Batman.

Amongst the villains of the DC Universe, Wonder Woman commands a mixture of awe and respect -- even Darkseid has come to esteem Diana’s abilities as a warrior. As formidable as she is in her own universe, how would Wonder Woman fare against the dastardly villains of Marvel? Here are 5 Marvel Villains She Would Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose Against).

10 DEFEAT: Sabretooth

Possessor of enhanced strength, senses, reflexes and recuperative abilities, Sabretooth is also a vicious combatant, capable of fits of sadistic cruelty and berserker rage that make him a worthy opponent for Wolverine. It is that intensity and unpredictability that might surprise and offset Diana at the onset of a fight, but being a battle-hardened and experienced warrior, Wonder Woman would soon recover to defeat Sabretooth deftly.

Aside from having superior strength and prowess in tactics, decades of fighting the Cheetah have taught Diana how to deal with opponents of a feral nature, almost ensuring her ability to hoist this wildcat by an unconscious scruff of the neck.

9 LOSE: Magneto

The Master of Magnetism is an Omega-level mutant, and one of the most powerful forces on the planet. Beyond the ‘run-of-the-mill’ abilities he’s exhibited, such as the ability to control anything metal (from a paperclip to the Golden Gate Bridge), he has also exhibited extreme manifestations of his power -- such as the ability to alter Earth’s magnetic poles.

With a fundamental mastery of one of the elemental forces of nature, Magneto should have no problem subduing Diana, especially if she has his full concentration. Barring some unforeseen mystical nullification of his powers on her bracelets, he could conceivably hold her down by those items while he smothers her in all the metal of a nearby city!

8 DEFEAT: Red Skull

In the comics, a good bulk of Wonder Woman's history takes place during World War II, so she is no stranger to dealing with Nazis, as her televised adventures can further attest to. Familiarity with this most evil of all enemies gives Diana the edge in dealing with the Red Skull, the Marvel Universe's resident Nazi remnant.

Anticipating the Red Skull's battle strategies would be old hat for Diana, who's well-versed in Nazi war plans. Moreover, despite the Skull's enhanced strength, reflexes and endurance, if it came down to a one-on-one fight, Diana could easily defeat him, owing to her exponentially more powerful abilities.

7 LOSE: Loki

Wonder Woman is no stranger to dealing with renegade Gods who like to cause mischief. After all, she's frequently run afoul of Ares, whose machinations have caused worldwide death and misery, and although not a God, the sorceress Circe has often been a thorn in Diana's side.

Familiar with the Greek pantheon of gods, Diana would probably be ill-equipped to deal with the Norse God of Tricks and Lies: Loki. Whereas her more familiar foes are somewhat more direct in their plots and schemes, Loki's machinations are so intricate and side-winding that Diana would be ill-prepared for them, allowing the King of Trickster Gods to lull Diana into defeat.

6 DEFEAT: Norman Osborn

As the Green Goblin, Norman Osborn possesses metahuman strength, speed, agility, and recuperative powers, as well as a vast array of weapons and gadgets that he has used to plague Spider-Man for decades. Although formidable, Wonder Woman would have no problem taking down this adversary.

Trained in battle from childhood, Diana’s superior strategy and tactics would negate the effects of Osborn’s weaponry, and her superhuman abilities exceed Osborn’s by at least a factor of 3. Outmatched, Osborn’s only hope of victory would be an x-factor to even the scales, such as a back-up Iron Patriot suit or another bonding with the Carnage symbiote. Even then, victory would not be assured.

5 LOSE: Thanos

The Mad Titan Thanos is an extremely powerful individual, capable of holding his own in a fight against the likes of Thor, The Hulk, and the Silver Surfer. Coupled with his raw might and near-invulnerability are his craftiness and sheer perseverance; Thanos will see his well-laid plans to the end, no matter the cost.

As well-prepared and formidable as Wonder Woman is, she would be outmatched by Thanos' strength, cunning, and deadly resolve, even if she could get an early advantage. Factoring in Thanos' possible possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, there is no way this contest can end in anything but a defeat for Diana.

4 DEFEAT: Ultron

Being a sentient AI with the ability to transfer its consciousness to different bodies affords Ultron a distinct advantage in any battle. Moreover, as Ultron usually upgrades the weapons systems and exterior casing of its primary body to optimal degrees, it’s a wonder the villain manages to be defeated at all.

While Wonder Woman will no doubt have her work cut out for her in the sheer volume of drones she’d have to cut through before facing Ultron “prime,” there’s little doubt Diana wouldn't be able to defeat the robot. Beyond her strength and strategy lies an indomitable spirit that simply will not stop until the battle is won. Even if it takes days and smashing every clone thrown at her, Diana will eventually get to the last one, leaving the robot no recourse but to retreat into a disembodied state.

3 LOSE: Doctor Doom

As the Marvel Universe’s ultimate baddie, Dr. Doom is the epitome of evil. He’s the ruler of his own country, a scientific genius light years ahead of his century, and a powerful sorcerer who could even give Doctor Strange a run for his money. Aside from this, Doom is a master strategist who has no problem playing the long game if it means his ultimate victory.

Quite simply, Diana would be outmatched and outclassed in every field of combat, and would quickly fall to Doom’s precisely timed and hand-tailored onslaught. After all, he managed to capture Diana once before, in 1981’s crossover, Superman and Spider-Man.

2 DEFEAT: Venom

Sometimes villain and sometimes lethal protector, Venom is a dangerous enemy, as Spider-Man can well attest to. Aside from having slightly more strength than Spidey, Venom has the ability to wall-crawl, shoot webs and camouflage, thanks to the symbiote. A formidable collection of abilities, Wonder Woman may be caught off guard by Venom’s speed and unsightly appearance, but Diana would sure to be quick to recover and figure out Venom’s weaknesses.

A clang of her mystic bracelets (a signature tactic) would be sure to create a sonic wave, one of the symbiote’s Achilles heels. A few more well-placed clangs and follow-up maneuvers and Venom would cease to be a threat to the Amazonian Princess.

1 LOSE: Galactus

The final citizen of the universe that preceded the current Marvel one, Galactus is a cosmic entity of almost incalculable power. Godlike in stature, Galactus’ power can be measured by what feeds it: planets. In order to sustain himself, Galactus must periodically consume worlds.

As formidable as she is, there is no way Diana could mount any substantial defense against the World Devourer. With the ability to control the Power Cosmic, alter souls and memories, and resurrect people from the dead, Galactus’ power levels far exceed anything that Wonder Woman can match. Despite her best efforts, Diana would be a gnat to Galactus’ lion in this (non-)battle.
