The following contains major spoilers for Wonder Woman #799 from DC Comics.

A version of Lynda Carter's classic costume makes a return within a dream sequence featured within DC's Wonder Woman #799.

Wonder Woman #799 comes from writers Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad, artists Alitha Martinez, Mark Morales, Meghan Hetrick, Juan Ferreyra, Terry Dodson, Rachel Dodson and Paulina Ganucheau, colorists Tamra Bonvillain, Terry Dodson and Ferreyra and letterer Pat Brosseau. The story begins with Etta Candy laying down for a good night's rest before it then cuts into a dream sequence where Etta and a number of other women are greeted by Diana Prince, who is dressed in a classic Wonder Woman costume, during a picnic.

Dressed in a version of Lynda Carter's costume, Diana Prince becomes trapped in a dream in DC's Wonder Woman #799.

"It's just...I don't remember how I got here. And these outfits. I mean, the way we're dressed it's a little..." Diana comments before Cheetah/Barbara Minerva suddenly attacks. Diana is able to thwart off Cheetah's attack (who has become a reformed hero within DC's Wonder Woman series) within the dream before she mysteriously disappears. After appearing in Sigurðr, Steve Trevor and Nubia's dreams as well, the end of Wonder Woman #799 reveals Diana has fallen into a coma-like state she won't wake up from.

Wonder Woman Is Getting a "Dawn of DC" Reboot in September

Wonder Woman #799 marks the penultimate issue in the current DC series, with Wonder Woman #800 arriving on June 20, 2023. The oversized 800th issue milestone comes from a large team of creators, including Cloonan, Conrad, Tom King, Joelle Jones, Todd Nauck, Sampere and more. On Sept. 5, 2023, DC Comics is launching a brand-new "Dawn of DC" Wonder Woman series from King and artist Sampere.

The synopsis provided by DC for Wonder Woman #1 reads, "After a mysterious Amazonian is accused of mass murder, the U.S. Congress passes The Amazon Safety Act, barring all Amazons from American soil. To carry out its new law, the government sets up the Amazon Extradition Entity (AXE) task force to remove those who don’t comply by any means necessary. In her search for the truth behind the killing, Wonder Woman now finds herself an outlaw in the world she once swore to protect."
