Wonder Woman is getting her first solo video game from Monolith and Warner Bros. Games.

The first teaser for Wonder Woman premiered during The Game Awards 2021, which comes from game developer Monolith Productions and publisher Warner Bros. Games. The teaser featured a voiceover, presumably from Wonder Woman's mother, Hippolyta, who says, "My daughter, a new threat comes to our shores, and I must call you home." While no further information regarding Wonder Woman was released, this could tease that the game will see Diana Prince return to her home island of Themyscira to battle a mysterious threat.

The teaser, which clocks in at 46 seconds long, offers a first look at Wonder Woman's appearance in the game, offering details of her suit and, of course, features her signature weapon, The Lasso of Truth. According to the voiceover, the game will see Wonder Woman "restore what has been broken, unite old enemies [and] forge new bonds."

Wonder Woman will be the hero's first solo video game, after appearing as part of an ensemble of characters in previous cames, particularly alongside fellow Justice League members in games like DC Legends, DC Universe Online and Injustice 2. The character also recently appeared in DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power, which arrived exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on June 4, with Wonder Woman in a leading playable role.

Monolith Productions is responsible for games like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor in 2014, and its sequel Shadow of War, which was released in 2017. Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games also announced MultiVersus, a new free-to-play crossover platform fighting game, which features a vast roster of Warner Bros. characters, including Wonder Woman.

The Game Awards took place just months after the Amazon celebrated her 80th anniversary on Oct. 21, 2021. To celebrate their Champion of Truth, DC released a plethora of new content, including the Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Spectacular, a hundred-page "collectible keepsake" and tribute to the Amazonian hero. The book featured original art and stories from some of the best-known artists and storytellers in comics, including Eisner Award-winning artist Yanick Paquette.

This wasn't the only major announcement made during 2021's Game Awards, with Lucasfilm Games releasing an official cinematic trailer for Star Wars Eclipse, a new Star Wars video game that will take place during the High Republic era, set nearly 200 years before the Star Wars prequel films. Star Wars Eclipse is currently in its early stages from game developer Quantic Dream.

Wonder Woman does not yet have a release date.
