In the Pre-Crisis DC multiverse, Earth-2 was home to DC heroes and villains who grew and aged over the years. This resulted in some unexpected legacies, such as Huntress (the daughter of Batman and Catwoman) and Silver Scarab (son of Hawkman and Hawkgirl). It also led to the birth of a powerful young woman who would go on to play a minor but vital role in the story of DC's Endless.

Who was Fury, the daughter of the original Wonder Woman -- and what happened to her in the Post-Crisis DC Universe?

Hippolyta Trevor first appeared in Wonder Woman #300 by Roy Thomas, Danette Thomas, Ross Andru, and Dick Giordano. The original Hippolyta hailed from Earth-Two, a world populated by the original Golden Age incarnations of the DC heroes and villains and united around the Justice Society of America. Nicknamed Lyta for short, was the daughter of an aged Diana Prince and Steve Trevor, who spent decades together happily married. Wonder Woman trained her daughter in the ways of the Amazon, with Lyta quickly learning how to best utilize the powers she inherited from her mother. She even took up the heroic identity of the Fury.

While Lyta grew up safe and happy in the largely peaceful world of Earth-Two, she also found herself in the shadow of her famous parents -- with her father had achieved the rank of General and her mother still an active superhero. She attempted to join the Justice Society as a way to prove herself, but her lack of experience kept her from being recruited. This resulted in her teaming up with other young members of the JSA -- Power Girl, Huntress, and the Star-Spangled Kid -- to first form Infinity Inc. The group became a pivotal group in Earth-Two, even saving the JSA on multiple occasions. Along the way, Lyta eventually fell in love with her teammate Hector Hall.

In the Post-Crisis Universe, Fury had her origin drastically changed -- removing most of her direct connection to Wonder Woman but keeping her ties to the JSA and Greek Mythology. Lyta was the adopted daughter of Steve and Joan Trevor, aka the former Miss America. She was led to believe that she was their actual child. In reality, she was the daughter of the Fury -- a war-time ally of the JSA and the Golden-Age Wonder Woman, Queen Hippolyta, who eventually lost control of herself due to the mystical powers of the ancient Furies.

The present-day Lyta still became a hero in her own right and still fell in love with Hector Hall, founding Infinity Inc alongside him. This new incarnation of the character also became pivotal to the Sandman mythos, as it was their son Daniel who ended up succeeding Morpheus to become the new Dream. After many trials and tribulations, Lyta and Hector died shortly after Infinite Crisis, taken into the Dreaming by their son at the cost of their mortal forms. Elements of Lyta can also be found in the New 52 Earth-2 series with the inclusion of another character named Fury -- this time the daughter of Wonder Woman and Steppenwolf, a corrupted warrior who eventually worked alongside the heroes to fight against the forces of Darkseid and her father.
