WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Wonder Woman #758, by Steve Orlando, Emanuela Lupacchino, Ray McCarthy, Romulo Fajardo Jr. and Pat Brosseau, on sale now.

Wonder Woman #758  sees the titular hero saving the soul of Warmaster/Paula von Gunther. However, once that battle is finished, the Justice Leaguer makes it clear to her mother, Queen Hippolyta, that Themyscira needs a major upgrade to evolve and work hand-in-hand with humanity. But while this does happen, Diana's greatest frenemy has returned: her twin brother Jason. And if the Fates have their way, he could become the greatest threat to Wonder Woman's vision.

After beating the Phantom Stranger and then the Presence in Heaven, Diana has some major epiphanies. She returns to Earth with Warmaster and brokers a treaty between the former villain and Hippolyta for the war fought between the Valkyries and Amazons centuries ago. But as Diana holds council, she is adamant Themyscira's mission must be bigger than a blood feud; the portal must be opened up to mankind to help them.

It's not just about culture; it's about looking after women everywhere and integrating into society so man won't fear what they don't understand. Nubia and many senior warriors agree with Wonder Woman, but the queen is defiant. Diana, however, challenges her, as this is the way to progress, and after an impassioned speech, Hippolyta agrees, proud of her social justice warrior daughter. This gives rise to the Amazon Embassy, a technological and innovative beacon where ideas can be exchanged.

At the press conference, Diana reaffirms it's a gift, a support system taking the Amazons away from their isolated ways, which would allow passage to Paradise Island for the chosen. Donna Troy, who herself has been Wonder Woman, is also present as part of the education committee, so it's clear this is a huge turning point, bucking the status quo for the female soldiers. It's Diana's dream to meld both worlds, but that obviously means there'll be difficulties ahead.

The first one comes off the Aegean Coast in the form of Jason, Diana's twin brother from the DC Rebirth era. He's being tortured by the Fates, who want to weaponize him to destroy this dream. He resists, but the Fates could brainwash him, kill him or hold him hostage to make Diana pay. Jason was also initially evil, siding with Grail. Jason has historically been jealous of his sister, so it might not take much for him to turn. There's also the Dark God factor to consider, as he allowed the leader, King Best, to possess and "kill" him so their kind could go find a home on the other side of the Source Wall.

With that wall destroyed, Jason, who is Zeus' son, could be holding Best's power inside him. Latent pieces of Best's mind may also return to execute Zeus' descendants, as per the Dark God's past directives. The Fates are building an army and they've already called Grail and Cheetah up, so it seems Jason is their next ace-in-the-hole. He's resistant now, but should he turn, he'll definitely be a major thorn in Wonder Woman's side as someone who could legit murder all her people, including his own mother.
