As the Princess of the Amazons, Wonder Woman is arguably the most skilled and empowered of all of them. These skills make her a formidable opponent in any fight -- with the hero even defeating people with super-speed with shocking ease, even when not at full health.

How did a blind Wonder Woman face off with Zoom in "Truth or Dare" by Geoff Johns, Justiniano, Livesay, Walden Wong, Pat Brosseau, James Sinclair, Greg Rucka, Drew Johnson, Ray Snyder, Richard Horie, Tanya Horie, & Todd Klein -- and how did she defeat him with one well-placed attack?

After an accident with the Cosmic Treadmill resulted in Wally West's former ally Hunter Zolomon being turned into the new Zoom, the villain became dedicated to breaking the world's heroes in an attempt to make them stronger. But despite being defeated and briefly contained, he was eventually targeted by Barbara Ann Minerva, aka the Cheetah -- a frequent enemy of Wonder Woman. Cheetah sought Zoom's help, both in granting her additional speed and finding a way to add him to the growing Secret Society of Supervillains. Zoom and Cheetah quickly developed a surprisingly flirty partnership, with Zoom trying to help make her become a "better you." Zoom inspired her to hunt down the original Cheetah and murder her as taking a step to achieving her true form.

All of this sets up Wonder Woman and Flash to work together to bring down both villains. At this point, Wonder Woman and Flash had served together previously on the Justice League. But shortly before these events, Diana was forced to blind herself during a battle with Medusa in Wonder Woman #210 -- giving Wally doubts about her continued effectiveness in combat. When the two arrive at the original Cheetah's home -- too late to save her -- they're ambushed by the villains. While Wonder Woman barely stays ahead of Zoom thanks to her endurance, Flash is caught off guard and is seriously wounded by Cheetah. wThe mystical villain using her claws to slash open his throat, with only his sped-up healing factor keeps him alive as Cheetah continues to slice into him.

Despite being blind though, Wonder Woman is still a heavily trained warrior and a magically enchanted fighter. Despite her blindness, she's able to use her hearing to listen closely enough for Zoom's attacks to predict his movements. Her durability allows her to last long enough to lure Zoom into an obvious attack -- after he threatens the lives of the Amazons to "improve" her, Diana is able to zero in on his location, wrap him up with her lasso of truth, and then kick him into the air -- before pulling him down into the ground. By the time she returns to Flash with the defeated Zoom, Flash has been able to heal enough and steal enough of Cheetah's speed to catch her by surprise.

While Zoom and Cheetah were able to escape by taking advantage of a distracted Wonder Woman and Flash, it's a good reminder of just how powerful and skilled Wonder Woman is. Zoom's unique speed-powers make him almost completely unpredictable in a fight, with even the Flash having trouble keeping up with him at times. But even without her sight, Wonder Woman was able to track his movements well enough to catch him -- and then she was strong enough to end the fight in one solid blow, preventing him from countering. She's even strong to withstand an unrestrained attack from Zoom, comparing his attacks to punches from Superman and more or less ignoring their impact. Even people with superspeed don't have the skills to get one past her.
