Fans of actor Danny Trejo (DesperadoCon Air) and using VFX effects to create entertaining deepfakes can now see what it'd have been like if Trejo stepped into the role of 2017's Wonder Woman as its Amazon lead, deflecting bullets to save Steve Trevor's soldiers.

As part of its 'DC What If' series, the YouTube channel Pooj's Variety Hour created a new version of Wonder Woman from her DC Extended Universe solo film for fans' enjoyment.

The deepfake video pulled a scene from 2017's Wonder Woman where Diana is first showing to Steve Trevor just how powerful and unstoppable she is. As she marches straight into war, she uses her metal bracelets and indestructible shield to deflect an array of bullets from the opposing side. Now, Trejo is seen wielding that same power with his signature gruff smirk.

Gal Gadot first portrayed Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where she was hailed as one of the best parts of the film. She later starred in a solo film, Wonder Woman, which earned $822.3 million dollars at the worldwide box office. She starred for the third time as the character in the DCEU ensemble film Justice League.

In December 2020, Gadot reprised her role as the unstoppable Amazon in Wonder Woman 1984. Due to COVID-19, the film debuted simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. Despite the unconventional rollout plan, Gadot's film earned the third-highest weekly total for any title since Nielsen started to report weekly streaming numbers in August 2020. During the week of its debut, Dec. 21-27, 2020, it earned the rank of the #1 streaming title overall. The Wonder Woman sequel is now available to rent on VOD.
