Wonder Woman is known as a great fighter and a skilled strategist, and we are more than happy to acknowledge her skill in those arenas, but above all else, Wonder Woman is a diplomat who values peace. If there is a way to end a fight without bloodshed, Princess Diana of Themyscira will find it and implement it. She always wants to end a conflict nonviolently if possible, and she will keep working toward that goal until all hope of an amicable resolution is truly lost. Then, and only then, will she break out the magic lasso and prepare to put the smackdown on some undoubtedly deserving individuals.

Perhaps it is because of this conciliatory nature that Wonder Woman tends to get along well with most people, especially her fellow heroes. That's pretty impressive, actually, given that some of her early team-ups featured her male colleagues treating her as little more than a super-strong secretary. But no matter how diplomatic and how open-minded a person is, there will always be some people who push them too far and Wonder Woman is certainly no exception. The number of superheroes who really get under Diana's invulnerable skin may be relatively small, but it's more than zero. It's definitely enough to fill up half of this list. So here we go: a quick rundown of ten of the many heroes who consider Wonder Woman a friend, as well as ten of the unfortunate and/or stupid few who have managed to earn her ire.

20 GETS ALONG WITH: SUPERMAN

Superman and Wonder Woman are two of the most powerful heroes, and two of the most devoted friends in the entire DC Universe. There have even been hints of romance whenever neither is involved with their usual paramours, and they've also had children together in an alternate universe or two.

Sure, there have been a few hiccups along the way, such as the time Superman disapproved of the lethal methods Wondy used to save him from Maxwell Lord, but these disputes never last long. Like all truly good friends, they have always managed to talk things out and maintain their mutual respect and admiration.

19 CAN'T STAND: SUPERGIRL

Aside from the multiple occasions where Wonder Woman and Supergirl have been manipulated into fighting each other, there is also the matter of Supergirl's first post-Crisis appearance. When Kara Zor-El crash lands on Earth, Superman accepts her story about her being his long-lost Kryptonian cousin without question, but neither Batman nor Wonder Woman wholly trust the newcomer.

Diana takes an especially proactive approach to figuring out whether Kara can be trusted. Spurred on by a prophecy of wide-scale destruction following in Kara's wake, she takes the future Supergirl and forces her to go to Themyscira for training, heedless of what Kara wants.

18 GETS ALONG WITH: BATMAN

Aside from that one incident where Batman came up with contingency plans to end all of his Justice League teammates and they got upset about it, Batman and Wonder Woman generally work quite well together. They seem to have very little in common -- he is a broody, human detective, while she is an Amazon princess -- but that only makes them a stronger team, as each compensates for the other's weaknesses.

There are always the inevitable whispers of a potential romance. But regardless, Diana is one of the few people who can poke a little fun at the dreaded Dark Knight and get away with it. If that's not true friendship, what is?

17 CAN'T STAND: SWAMP THING

Swamp Thing

This one is entirely Wonder Woman's fault, to be honest. She bumps into the Swamp Thing while investigating some particularly horrific crimes, but rather than using her famed intelligence and reserve, Wonder Woman decides that Swamp Thing is guilty based on little to no evidence. Thus filled with righteous fury, Diana pummels him for all she's worth.

But Amazonian strength doesn't mean too much to a guy made of plant matter. Swamp Thing finally gets so annoyed that he ties her up with vines and wanders off to do what Wonder Woman should have done in the first place: solve the mystery.

16 GETS ALONG WITH: SHE-HULK

In JLA/Avengers, the two title teams are thrown together by cosmic forces beyond their control. The villain Kronos is determined to uncover the secrets of the creation of the universe, even if he has to destroy both the DC and Marvel universes to do it.  The Avengers and the Justice League are just as determined to stop him.

While everyone else storms ahead to confront Kronos himself, Wonder Woman volunteers to stay behind and prevent Kronos' minions from pursuing them. She is obviously prepared to fight alone, but then She-Hulk reappears and offers to fight by her side. Unfortunately, we don't get to see the surely glorious battle that followed.

15 CAN'T STAND: HARLEY QUINN

Harley Quinn Amanda Conner

It figures that, the one time Harley Quinn wants to do something heroic, she goes about it in a hilariously villainous way. Upon learning that Wonder Woman's life is in danger, Harley decides that she must save the Amazing Amazon by any means necessary.

Harley's plan involves knocking out Wonder Woman with sleeping gas and stealing the costume right off her back. Thus disguised, Harley leaves Diana in the tub and runs out to either imprison or end the people threatening Wonder Woman. Harley isn't real picky about how her foes end up, especially when it comes to protecting her favorite Amazon.

14 GETS ALONG WITH: DONNA TROY

DC Legends Donna Troy

While evacuating an apartment fire, Wonder Woman rescued a toddler whose parents had seemingly already succumbed to the blaze. Unable to track down the girl's name or relatives, Wonder Woman brought her to Paradise Island. There, she was given the name Donna, as well as superpowers and Amazonian combat training.

Since then, Donna has joined Wonder Woman on her quest to bring peace to Man's World. She has taken several aliases, including Wonder Girl and Troia. She has also had to deal with marriage, divorce, loss, and being depowered. But Donna has always remained a loyal ally to her sister, and vice versa.

13 CAN'T STAND: HAWKGIRL

Justice League Unlimited Hawkgirl

In Justice League: Unlimited, Hawkgirl is the most mysterious member of the team. She is secretly an advance scout for the Thanagarians, an alien race that wants to destroy Earth via a hyperspace bypass. In her defense, Hawkgirl didn't know about the destruction part of the plan. When she finds out about it, she betrays her people to protect her adopted home world.

But this makes little difference to some of her Justice League teammates. Wonder Woman takes the betrayal harder than most. She doesn't even want Hawkgirl to stay with the League at all. It isn't until they are forced to confront Hades together that Wonder Woman finally forgives her.

12 GETS ALONG WITH: CASSIE SANDSMARK

wonder girl cassie

Wonder Woman first met young Cassie Sandsmark while interviewing for a museum job with Cassie's mother, Helena. Helena was scolding Cassie for being irresponsible at the time. As if that wasn't enough, two minutes later, Cassie's disobedience causes a giant, ancient robot to go on a rampage through Gateway City. Its target? Cassie herself, as the robot's programming compels it to attack whoever awakens it.

Cassie does help to stop the statue in the end. Wonder Woman admires her courage enough to suggest that she train Cassie as an Amazon warrior, much to Helena's dismay and disapproval. But Cassie perseveres and eventually proves herself responsible enough to become the new Wonder Girl.

11 CAN'T STAND: HERAKLES

For most people, the name Herakles -- or Hercules, as he is better known -- evokes images of strength, power and heroism. Not so for the Amazons.  Long ago, Herakles attacked them and assaulted Hippolyta, Wonder Woman's future mother. After several millennia of punishment, Herakles got his act together and repented for his past sins, but most of the Amazons forgave him.

And then Herakles blew all that by deciding he wanted vengeance for his long punishment after all. He disguised himself as a mortal and tried to make Wonder Woman fall in love with him. Instead, it was Herakles who fell in love and willingly went back to Olympus for yet more punishment.

10 GETS ALONG WITH: JASON

Jason is the newest addition to the Wonder Woman family. Although Hippolyta gave him away at birth, he is, biologically speaking, Wonder Woman's twin brother. Jason can access the powers of all of the Greek gods, including the real obscure ones that no one would expect.

After some initial Darkseid-related difficulties, Diana and Jason learn to cooperate and even to love each other. They work together to prevent the Dark Gods from destroying everyone on Earth, and when Jason sacrifices himself to save the Justice League and the world, Wonder Woman is visibly distraught by the loss of her newfound sibling.

9 CAN'T STAND: GUY GARDNER

Wonder Woman made her first appearance after the continuity-changing Crisis on Infinite Earths in a miniseries called Legends, where she saved some civilians from an Apokoliptian warhound. Guy Gardner, then Green Lantern, responded to this by ogling her and calling her "babe."

Wonder Woman immediately calls him on it, telling him that if he were any kind of a hero, he'd be fighting instead of staring at her. But this had no impact on Guy, who thought to himself, "Now that is one tough broad!" Luckily for his continued good health, he had the sense to not say that out loud.

8 GETS ALONG WITH: STAR SAPPHIRES

Star Sapphires

The Star Sapphires are a group of intergalactic peacekeepers whose violet Power Rings are fueled by love. During "Blackest Night," when Power Rings of all colors were claiming heroes left and right, Wonder Woman wielded a Star Sapphire ring. Apparently, the connection between Wondy and the Star Sapphires never fully faded, even after the event ended.

In Wonder Woman Annual #2, the Star Sapphires ask for Wonder Woman's help in defeating Karnell, an angry god bent on destroying them. Wonder Woman not only readily answers their call, she refers to them as her "sisters". In the end, Karnell is only defeated by the combined might of Diana and all of the Star Sapphires.

7 CAN'T STAND: SUPERMAN

Supes and Wondy usually get along great despite any differences of opinion but in The New Frontier, an alternate telling of the DCU's origins set in the '50s, their ideological differences very nearly prevent their famous friendship. During their first interaction, Wonder Woman has just helped a group of Vietnamese women get revenge on their captors.

Superman strongly disapproves of her methods, and Wonder Woman bluntly tells him what he can do with his uncritical patriotism and naive optimism. They do learn to work together in the end, with Superman holding up an injured Wonder Woman as a symbol of resistance before the final battle with the Centre.

6 GETS ALONG WITH: AQUAMAN

Aquaman

Both Wonder Woman and Aquaman are of royal blood, so it makes sense that they'd get along. They understand each other on a level that few others can. For example, on one occasion, a group of young girls are mysteriously ended while about to embark on a trip to Themyscira. The unknown perpetrator appears to have come from Atlantis.

A grieving, furious Diana goes to Aquaman with her suspicions. He listens to her thinly veiled accusations and then offers his assistance in tracking down the real culprit. How many friends do you have who would not only forgive such allegations, but would then turn around and help you out?

5 CAN'T STAND: BATWOMAN

3144101-batwoman+1

Injustice asks the question: what would Superman do if he lost Lois Lane in the worst way possible? The unfortunate answer is that he would take over the world in the name of ending all crime. Wonder Woman, ignoring his increasingly brutal methods, takes Superman's side in the conflict. But many heroes, including the Batman Family, do not and after Wonder Woman takes out the Huntress, the rift between them becomes insurmountable.

Batwoman's revenge comes swiftly and violently. She grabs Wonder Woman's lasso and comes within a hair's breadth of strangling her with it. But as satisfyingly ironic as that would be, Batwoman, unlike Wonder Woman, still has her scruples and doesn't go through with it.

4 GETS ALONG WITH:  SPIDER-MAN

Unlimited Access is a crossover event between Marvel and DC. In the first issue, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman team up to defeat the Juggernaut and Mantis. After the fight, Spider-Man asks to borrow the Lasso of Truth to use as a web line. Wonder Woman, impressed by Spidey's fighting prowess, agrees to let him have it if he can beat her at wrestling.

But in a disappointing turn of events, Spider-Man's wife, Mary Jane, decides to play the role of suspicious, jealous spouse that day. Spider-Man rushes off, leaving Wonder Woman to amusedly ponder what "a strange, strange man" he is.

3 CAN'T STAND: CAPTAIN ATOM

Captain Atom is yet another hero who opposes Superman and, by extension, Wonder Woman in Injustice. At one point, she even uses her sword to cut his neck. For a regular hero, this might not be such a big deal but for Captain Atom, whose entire body is volatile nuclear energy prevented from going kaboom only by the integrity of his skin, it's potentially world-destroying.

Atom hurries to fly far enough from Earth that he won't hurt anyone... except Superman, who he drags into space with him in a desperate, last-ditch attempt to bring the Man of Steel's despotic reign to an end. But while Superman and Wonder Woman are both injured in the blast, Captain Atom is the only fatality.

2 GETS ALONG WITH: MERA

Bombshells puts the spotlight almost exclusively on DC's many fabulous female characters. As such, rather than focusing on Wondy's relationships with the many male heroes she has worked with, the book instead develops her relationship with Mera, an Atlantean royal.

When Diana rebels against her mother and decides to go to Man's World, she calls on Mera to help her flee Themyscira via dolphin. Later, Mera takes on the sacred duty of giving Wonder Woman's new boyfriend, Steve Trevor, the shovel talk. In between the lighthearted threats, she says that she was Diana's first kiss. Clearly, these two have been very close companions for a very long time.

1 CAN'T STAND: ALL MALE HEROES

All-Star Batman and Robin is a controversial book, to put it politely. Many readers were put off by the characters' abnormally harsh and outright reprehensible behavior. Wonder Woman's portrayal caused as much consternation as anyone's.

Here, she hates all men unequivocally. The only potential exception is Superman, with whom she has a rather violent love/hate relationship. But as for her fellow Justice Leaguers Green Lantern and Plastic Man? They're nothing but useless and pathetic men, as far as she's concerned. One wonders why she joined the group in the first place, if she holds her teammates in such low regard.
