The centerpiece of Wonder Woman: Bloodlines is about the battle between Wonder Woman and a young girl, Vanessa Kapatelis, who Diana befriended when she first came to Man's World, who has now turned against her old friend to become the supervillain known as the Silver Swan.

However, the Silver Swan's appearance in the film appears in the context of a larger group of Wonder Woman supervillains known as Villainy, Inc. Bloodlines serves to show the world the many interesting villains that Wonder Woman has to offer. In that sense, then, it also serves as Wonder Woman's equivalent to the classic Batman storyline, Hush.

Batman: Hush saw a new villain, Hush, put Batman through a sort of gauntlet, as he faced off against most of his most notable supervillains in a single storyline. Wonder Woman: Bloodlines has a similar approach, but Executive Producer James Tucker explained to reporters at New York Comic-Con that the main point of the use of the villains was to let everyone know that Wonder Woman actually does have an impressive Rogues Gallery that goes beyond just Ares and Cheetah.

Tucker explained, "I wanted to use a lot of her rogues gallery that never makes it into these movies, as it's always Cheetah (although she is also in it). She has a deeper bench of villains that never makes it into the animation or live action, so we wanted to correct that.

Villainy, Inc. is made up of a number of Wonder Woman's foes, like Doctor Poison, Doctor Cyber, Giganta and Cheetah, while Silver Swan's transformation into villainy is the centerpiece of the tale.

However, with so many villains and so few very famous ones, Tucker explained how that led to them taking a Hush approach to the story, "Because her villains haven't gotten a lot of attention, it is kind of a cameo-fest. This is kind of like Wonder Wman's version of Hush. A lot of cameos. We don't delve into their back stories too deep, because it's not that kind of story. But if it was a series, all of her villains are rich enough that you can spend time and develop them. "

Tucker is a big believer in Wonder Woman deserving her own animated series.

Wonder Woman: Bloodlines stars Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jeffrey Donovan as Steve Trevor, Adrienne Moore as Etta Candy, Nia Vardalos as Julia Kapatelis and Cree Summer as Hippolyta, as well as Marie Avgeropoulos as Silver Swan, Kimberly Brooks as Cheetah/Giganta, Michael Dorn as Ferdinand, Ray Chase as Lead Bandit, Mozhan Marno as Dr. Cyber, Courtenay Taylor as Dr. Poison and Constance Zimmer as Veronica Cale.
