Wonder Woman 3 director Patty Jenkins teased the return of Lynda Carter in the Warner Bros. and DC Film threequel.

"In Wonder Woman 3, which I can't wait to hear you come out with, any..." Carter began at DC FanDome before Jenkins jumped in with "Can't wait to hear to not talk about!" The two then laughed as Jenkins gave the hush symbol and Carter added, "Even if I did know, you'd have to kill me to have me talk about it, but I don't."

Lynda Carter played Wonder Woman in the 1970s television series, and she cameoed in 2020's Wonder Woman: 1984 as Asteria, whose golden eagle armor Diana wears in the climactic battle with Cheetah. Asteria would also appear in the film's post-credits scene, confirming that despite her nebulous fate during an earlier flashback, she still exists in the present day.

Wonder Woman 3 was announced by Warner Bros. just two days after Wonder Woman 1984 premiered in theaters and on HBO Max. "As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real-life Wonder Women -- Gal and Patty -- who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy," Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich said.

"Wonder Woman 1984 broke records and exceeded our expectations across all of our key viewing and subscriber metrics in its first 24 hours on the service, and the interest and momentum we're seeing indicates this will likely continue well beyond the weekend," WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer EVP Andy Forsell added. "During these very difficult times, it was nice to give families the option of enjoying this uplifting film at home, where theater viewing wasn’t an option."

Prior to the announcement of Wonder Woman 3, Gal Gadot seemed unsure about what the future held for Diana Prince in the DC Extended Universe. "We have no idea," she said. "You never know. I would love to do another one if the story is great and with Patty [Jenkins] of course. But I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see."

Wonder Woman 3 has yet to receive a release date.
