Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot will reportedly return to England as production begins this summer on the sequel to Warner Bros.' blockbuster Wonder Woman.
Omega Underground suspects the film will utilize the sound stages at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, home to the 2017 original, as well as Justice League, The Dark Knight, and the Harry Potter franchise, among other features. Wonder Woman also filmed in multiple other locations, in Italy, France and England, but it's unknown which spots might be used for the 2019 sequel.
Although plenty of rumors have swirled about Wonder Woman 2, including the era in which it will be set, few if any details have been confirmed. Jenkins said earlier this month that the intention is for the sequel to be "totally different" from its acclaimed predecessor.
“We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us,” the director said. “It’s an entirely new adventure together that we couldn’t be luckier [to do].”
Released in June, Wonder Woman earned critical acclaim, and grossed nearly $822 million worldwide, delivering Warner Bros.' struggling DC Extended Universe its first undeniable success.
Once again starring Gal Gadot in the title role, Wonder Woman 2 arrives in theaters Nov. 1, 2019.
