Wonder Woman 2 has added Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal in a mysterious key role.

According to Variety, Pascal has joined the highly-anticipated sequel in an undisclosed, but "key role." This marks the second time the star will have worked with director Patty Jenkins following the television movie Exposed. Pascal joins fellow franchise newbie Kristen Wiig, who will play main antagonist Cheetah.

In addition to Game of Thrones, Pascal is known for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Narcos and The Great Wall. His past credits also include The Mentalist, Graceland, The Good Wife and more.

Details surrounding Wonder Woman 2 remain under wraps. However, Jenkins has promised that the film will be "totally different" from its predecessor. Rumors suggest that the feature will take place during 1980s, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The film will mark the second solo outing for the title character, who saw massive box office success last year. After surpassing box office estimates and opening to a stunning $103.2 million, the Jenkins-helmed film went on to earn $821 million worldwide, besting some of its fellow superhero films in 2017.

Wonder Woman 2 will be directed by Patty Jenkins, who is set to co-write the film alongside DC Entertainment President & Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and Expendables scribe Dave Callaham. The film is set to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
