As she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, original Wonder Woman (1975) star Lynda Carter addressed whether she'd appear in Wonder Woman 2, the sequel to director Patty Jenkins' blockbuster hit Wonder Woman (2017).

"I'm just going to leave it up to the universe and Patty," she told Variety in an interview commemorating her Walk of Fame honor. However, Jenkins and Carter's relationship is such that not only was Jenkins a presenter during the Walk of Fame ceremony, but Jenkins considers Carter a "sister in the struggle," saying "[Lynda] is just the coolest, smartest, most powerful yet elegant, beautiful and lovely person."

Jenkins also said the two hit it off during their first phone conversation and "could have finished each other's sentences" about their goals for a Wonder Woman film adaptation. They also have shared "some incredibly funny texts since then, where we both cut to the chase about wanting to defend others and strategize, which felt like the real encapsulation of our instant friendship." Plus, it would only make sense for Carter to make an appearance in a Wonder Woman, since she originated the role for the screen.

Wonder Woman 2 will be directed by Patty Jenkins, who is set to co-write the film alongside DC Entertainment President & Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and Expendables scribe Dave Callaham. The film is set to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
