It was reported on the weekend that Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot had given Warner Bros. an ultimatum: If she's to do Wonder Woman 2, accused sexual harasser Brett Ratner couldn't be involved as a financier on the project. More recent reports debunked this ultimatum -- and insisted Ratner wasn't going to be involved on the sequel, anyways -- but since then, Gadot and director Patty Jenkins have spoken up on the matter, clearing things up for themselves.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Jenkins clarified, "[Warner Bros. cutting ties with Ratner on Wonder Woman 2] happened weeks ago, so that actually had nothing to do with Gal. That was a foregone conclusion, I think. I was surprised by that story."

While Gadot didn't necessarily have a direct impact on the decision, she's made it pretty clear how she feels about Ratner and his history of harassment. "Look, there's been a lot written about how I feel and my views about this topic, and everyone knows how I feel about it," Gadot said. "And the truth is there are so many people involved with making this movie, and they all have echoed the same sentiments."

Ratner recently came under fire from various women — including X-Men‘s Ellen Page and Olivia Munn — for sexual harassment, which revealed multiple misconducts. Page’s reports were later corroborated by Anna Paquin. Following the accusations made against him, Ratner released a statement in which he revealed that he would “step away from all Warner Bros.-related activities.” The studio later stated that they were set to cut ties with Ratner and that they would not renew their initial production deal with him beyond 2018.
