More than a year after Warner Bros. pushed back the sequel's release from November 2019 to June 2020, fans will get their first real look at Wonder Woman 1984 on Sunday with the global debut of the trailer. But when, more precisely, should they expect it?

The follow-up to director Patty Jenkins' 2017 blockbuster, which earned $828.1 million worldwide, the film brings Gal Gadot's iconic hero out of the World War I era and into the height of the Cold War, in 1984, as the title suggests. She's not alone, either, as Chris Pine reprises his role as Steve Trevor, despite the character dying in the original film.

Although the threat of the Soviet Union looms over the film, Wonder Woman's primary adversary is Barbara Ann Minerva, played by Kristen Wiig, a British archaeologist whose body becomes host to the cheetah goddess of the lost city of Urzkartaga, transforming her into Cheetah.

While Warner Bros. has released a handful of behind-the-scenes and production photos, and a dazzling poster, this will be our first official look at Wonder Woman, and presumably her foe, in action in the sequel. So, when should we expect the trailer to drop?

The trailer will receive a global debut as part of Wonder Woman 1984's presentation at Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, featuring Jenkins and Gadot. The panel will be live-streamed on Twitter beginning Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT. That will be followed immediately by the global debut of the first trailer.

Although the shuffling of release dates usually signals trouble for a Hollywood production, the delay of Wonder Woman 1984 was requested by Jenkins, in part, to enable her to better balance work on her TNT miniseries I Am the Night, starring Pine, but also to position the film as a summer blockbuster. The filmmaker admitted earlier this year that she now regrets that.

"The entire time that we were making the movie, I was lobbying, 'cause they were wanting to move it up much earlier," she recalled. "And I was like, 'You guys... it's gotta be the summer of 2020. Like, it's got to be.' And that was what I always wanted. I've just screened a version of the film, and now I'm, 'Oh, my God, can we move it back up again?' I'm dying to release this film. But, of course, it's good and it's fine. But it's frustrating to have to wait."

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah and Pedro Pascal as Maxwell. The film opens on June 5, 2020.
