SPOILER WARNING: The following article could contain major spoilers for Wonder Woman 1984

Pedro Pascal's mysterious role in Wonder Woman 1984 may be linked to the return of Chris Pine's Steve Trevor.

According to SuperBroMovies, Pascal will play a God in disguise. The character will make a deal with Diana to bring Steve Trevor back from the dead in exchange for doing his bidding. This isn't the first time a rumor has pegged Pascal's role as a disguised God. However, this rumor is the first time that his role in the film has been directly tied to the reappearance of Steve Trevor. Although the rumor could prove to be untrue, it does provide a reason for Steve's return following his apparent death at the end of  2017's Wonder Woman.
