Warner Bros. has pushed back released of Wonder Woman 1984 by seven months, to June 2020.

Director Patty Jenkins' sequel was originally scheduled to arrive on Nov. 1, 2019, but will now it will open on June 5, 2020.

According to Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros.' president of domestic distribution, the move is in hopes of replicating the box office success of 2017 original, which was also released in June. “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did," he said in a statement. "This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

The first Wonder Woman received largely positive reviews on its way to a worldwide gross of $820 million. It didn’t take long for Jenkins to sign on for the sequel, moves the setting from World War I to, as the title suggests, 1984.

Wonder Woman earned $103.3 million domestically in its June 2017 opening weekend, the biggest debut for a film directed by a woman, and for a DC film not starring Batman or Superman.

Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, Kristen Wiig, Nathasha Rothwell and Robin Wright.
