Warner Bros. has provided a new look at Wonder Woman 1984, with two new official stills displaying Diana Prince unleashing the golden Lasso of Truth on both the film's new villains, Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah and Maxwell Lord.
Apparently set during the action set piece inside the White House, Minerva's antagonistic alter ego appears completely affected by the mythical weapon, with Wonder Woman seen straining against her. A separate photo shows Lord similarly ensnared by the lasso as his security detail looks on.
Previously released photos showed Minerva and Lord working together while in possession of a strange artifact. The photos also revealed that Steve Trevor would be present during the action sequence, assisting Diana in battling guards throughout the government building.
While the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic caused the film to lose its original June release date, Wonder Woman 1984 is still expected to receive its theatrical release at the end of the summer.
Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film arrives in theaters Aug 14.
