To prepare for his role as the villain Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984, Pedro Pascal created a "pop-art scrapbook" using the film's script.

Pascal's scrapbook featured multiple printed images of the DC Comics' version of Maxwell Lord, according to Variety. It was also mentioned that Pascal had changed the images in several different ways with some featuring the addition of text bubbles and burn holes.

"I felt like I had wake myself up again in a big way," Pascal said of making the scrapbook. "This was just a practical way of, like, instead of going home tired and putting Netflix on, [I would] actually deal with this physical thing, doodle and think about it and run it."

Much like the version of the character in DC Comics, Wonder Woman 1984's Maxwell Lord will be a villainous businessman seeking power. In an earlier interview, Pascal revealed that his character represents the element of greed prevalent in our modern culture. "Max is a dream-seller," he said.
