While Wonder Woman 1984 may not be coming out for over a year, director Patty Jenkins has shared a new photo of its star, Gal Gadot.
In honor of Gadot's 34th birthday, Jenkins shared a photo of her collaborator, with a touching message to the DC Extended Universe star accompanying the image.
Happy Birthday to my most spectacular, incredible, amazing, beautiful, loving, powerful, hilarious and awe inspiring friend and partner. I love you more than words can say. Happy Birthday @GalGadot #WW1984 pic.twitter.com/eRqmuFWdlX— Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) April 30, 2019
It's unknown if the photo itself is from the set of Wonder Woman 1984 or just a posed shot, though its stylish staging and serious demeanor from Gadot suggest the actor may be in-character as Diana Prince, further evidenced by Gadot not wearing her wedding band and sporting what could be her signature bracers. Additionally, the interior resembles scenes from a shopping mall seen in earlier photos.
Jenkins is reteaming with Gadot for next year's sequel, directing from a script she had co-written with producer Geoff Johns. Principal photography on the upcoming DCEU film wrapped in December, with the movie now in the middle of post-production.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film opens on June 5, 2020.
