Star Gal Gadot has debuted this first look at herself in costume in Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to director Patty Jenkins' 2017 hit.

The image arrives only days after the start of principal photography was signaled with the release of photos of Gadot as Diana and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, in very 1980s attire and settings.

If there are differences between this costume and the one Gadot wore in the original, they're subtle, as even the tiara and arm bands appear to be the same. The leather straps wrapped around her fists have even carried over from the World War I era. It's possible the colors are a little brighter, but that may only be a trick of lighting.

We've long known the sequel will move the action from World War i to the 1980s -- specifically, 1984, as the now-official title confirms -- and that the primary antagonist is Kristen Wiig, playing classic Wonder Woman villain Cheetah. It's been rumored, no doubt due to the era, that the plot will involve the Cold War. The bigger mystery, of course, is how Pine's Steve Trevor, who sacrificed himself at the end of the original film, is back, and rocking early-'80s fashion.

Directed by Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal, Wonder Woman 1984 is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
