Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for release later this summer, but one of the film's cast members isn't so sure the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic will allow for it.

"I don't know about the August deadline," Connie Nielsen told ABC News, in reference to the film's release date. Nielsen plays Queen Hippolyta in the film. "I sure hope so. The mention of a remedy against this virus will certainly make everything a lot easier."

"Everyone is waiting to get back to work as well," Nielsen said. "We're all waiting to get started on our next projects. Having access to a vaccine or at least a remedy will be a good thing for us all."

After previously being scheduled for release on June 5, the movie was pushed back to Aug. 14, due to the global pandemic. The outbreak was only the latest delay in the film's release, however -- after originally scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019, that date was moved to Dec. 13, before again being pushed into this year.

The film is among many others that have had their releases delayed due to COVID-19.

Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film arrives in theaters on Aug 14.
