Wonder Woman's 1975 TV series featured the titular hero fighting the Nazis. While they posed a genuine threat to the world, the show's villains were not the smartest, as seen in the television pilot. In "The New Original Wonder Woman," Colonel Oberst von Blasko discloses sensitive information to a pilot who will conduct a covert attack on America. In order to protect their conversation from eavesdropping, he insists they make an important change to their method of communication, but this idea turns out to be a major blunder for the Nazis.

Before von Blasko begins, he tells the pilot to speak in English in case somebody overhears them. This means the show avoided having to use subtitles and reduced the necessity for translating German; although, bits of German do appear sporadically. In world, on the other hand, this was a serious mistake. Any Allied spy would likely speak English. Furthermore, the pilot could've been the spy all along, especially since he speaks English so proficiently.

Soon after the Nazis begin using English, their confidential information is leaked about their top secret plan to attack the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It turns out one of von Blasko's closest aides, Nikolas, is the spy, and he sends carrier pigeons with updates to the Allies. The Americans in Washington, DC, which include Major Steve Trevor and General Blankenship, use Nikolas' information to hatch a plan to intercept the German pilot over the Devil's Triangle.

Funnily enough, a Nazi mole, Marcia, is also among the Americans. She informs von Blasko that the Americans are aware of the incoming attack on the Brooklyn Navy Yard, at which point the Colonel ascertains there is a leak occurring from his side. Nikolas tells him it's likely a mechanic on the airstrip who's been sharing information. Nevertheless, von Blasko persists in using English, and he never suspects Nikolas.

Information continues to leak like a sieve, to the point that the Nazi pilot is intercepted, Major Trevor washes up on Paradise Island, and von Blasko has to fly the mission himself. Nikolas informs the Americans of von Blasko's imminent arrival in a bomber, and they eventually figure out which specific building -- the Norden Bomb Site -- is being targeted, which further foils von Blasko's mission. Armed with this intelligence that the Nazis unintentionally divulged, the Americans and Wonder Woman find their job more manageable, even while dealing stateside with the Nazi Fifth Column. This perhaps could've been avoided -- or at least delayed -- if the Nazis didn't make their info so easily available for an English speaking spy.
