Marvel is also reportedly in the midst of casting the show's female lead, which could be the role the studio is hoping Courteney Cox (Friends, Scream 6) will sign on to play. Simon Williams' agent, who will be a villain in the series, is also currently being cast. Both Cox and Odenkirk's castings have not been confirmed by Marvel Studios at this time.

Andrew Guest, best known for his work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community, is serving as head writer on the Disney+ series, with former Brooklyn Nine-Nine writers Madeline Walter and Paul Bradford Welsh also reportedly on board. While plot details for Wonder Man are scarce, the series has been rumored to be a satirical look at Hollywood and the filmmaking industry. Wonder Man shooting under the working title "Callback" and Sir Ben Kingsley reprising his MCU role as thespian Trevor Slattery further support the theory that the upcoming series will shine a comedic lens on the acting industry.
