A Wonder Girl series based on Yara Flor was announced in November 2020. Yara Flora debuted during DC's Future State publishing initiative and was created by Joëlle Jones. Yara Flor was described as "a Latina Dreamer who was born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God, learns that she is Wonder Girl, and with her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world."

The CW has given 2021-2022 pilot orders to the live-action Powerpuff Girls series and to DC's Naomi from Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship. The Naomi series "follows a teen girl's journey from her small northwestern town to the heights of the multiverse. When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes." News of DuVernay adapting Naomi came out in December 2020.

Future State: Wonder Woman's Yara Flor is transitioning out of DC's Future State event and into a new Wonder Girl ongoing DC series on May 18. Writer/artist Joëlle Jones will continue Yara Flor's adventures in Wonder Girl, with colors by Jordie Bellaire and lettering by Clayton Cowles. Yara Flor is the Wonder Woman of Future State, a two-month publishing initiative spinning out of the finale of Dark Nights: Death Metal. With the Multiverse re-established, Future State opens a world of opportunities with a glimpse at possible futures for the DC Universe.
