10 Is Wonder Egg Priority A Magical Girl Anime? The anime stands out as something very unique that doesn't quite fit within one category

Ai summons her weapon in Wonder Egg Priority

One argument that splits fans into two groups is whether or not Wonder Egg Priority counts as a magical girl anime. There's a lot of valid arguments to compare it to modern magical girl anime, because of how it tackles dramatic coming-of-age problems and contains dark, psychological tones. The main characters are all young girls who travel to a fantasy-like world to battle against monsters using magical weapons, but there are no transformation sequences or secretly evil mascot characters.

Overall, it's fair to say that Wonder Egg Priority shares a lot of common tropes and themes with some of the magical girl anime fans have seen in the last decade, but it still stands out as something very unique that doesn't quite fit within one category.

9 How Old Are The Protagonists? The members of the main quartet are all 14 or 15 years old

Wonder Egg Priority is a coming-of-age story that focuses on a young cast of characters dealing with issues surrounding growing up in an uncaring world. The members of the main quartet of the show are all 14 or 15 years old, and all but one are junior high school students.

The youthfulness of the characters shines through in how they view the world and how they choose to tackle the problems they run into on their own individual journeys. It's refreshing to see young characters portrayed so accurately, as people with their own worries, struggles, and aspirations -- rather than the story revolving solely around their social status in school.

8 What's Going On With The Main Character's Eyes? she has a rare genetic variation called 'Heterochromia'

Ai from Wonder Egg Priority.

This is Ai Ohto, the main character of Wonder Egg Priority. She's shy, socially awkward, and a victim of bullying. This is largely due to her eyes being two different colors. This is because of a rare genetic variation called 'Heterochromia,' a condition that usually only happens in animals.

While she originally is ridiculed for this, as the show goes on, she receives compliments and support from her new group of friends, and she comes to accept her heterochromia and embraces it. It adds to the show's strong themes of accepting oneself, building up self-confidence, and relying on those who care about you.

7 What Does It All Have To Do With Eggs? When the protagonists go to their 'dream world,' they do so with the intent to crack open one of these eggs & protect the person who spawns from them

Title Screen to Wonder Egg Priority.

Wonder Egg Priority is quite a bizarre title, even for anime. But what exactly do eggs have to do with the story? When the protagonists go to their 'dream world,' they do so with the intent to crack open one of these eggs and protect the person who spawns from them. These people are usually other young people who have taken their own life and need protection from villainous characters.

This usually involves protecting the individual from a huge boss-like monster, which takes a horrifying, twisted form based on a person from the egg-person's life. The main characters do this under the assumption that it will help bring back a significant person from their life who took their lives in a similar way. These loved ones show up as statues in each protagonist's own dream world, and appear to get warmer and more lifelike with each egg-person saved.

6 What Are Those Creatures With The Red Masks? They are called 'Seeno Evils' & they serve as one of the antagonists of the series

Seeno Evils from Wonder Egg Priority.

These creepy creatures are called 'Seeno Evils' and they serve as one of the antagonists of the series. They support the monster that targets each egg-spawned soul to the corner and harm the person. The protagonists of the story have to use their magical weapons to keep these creatures at bay and protect their assigned person.

As the show goes on, the Seeno Evils evolve and take new forms, always slamming pressure on the protagonists and keeping tensions high. They truly are the stuff of nightmares, making them fitting villains for these dream-world landscapes the main characters do battle in nearly every night.

5 Does Wonder Egg Priority Have Horror Themes? The show can best be described as a psychological thriller

Ai is desperate to find out why Koito took her own life and help her if she can.

Neiru fights for her sister, however, the little we know about Neiru's sister indicates that they didn't have a stable relationship. Rika is trying to save her number one fan from when she was an idol, a girl named Chiemi whom Rika drove away with insults. which she regrets. Finally, Momoe is fighting for her friend Haruka, a friend who confessed romantic feelings towards Momoe but was rejected and took it badly.
