Jason Latour's run on Wolverine and the X-Men in 2014 lasted just 12 issues before the title came to an end, leaving both the writer and a lot of fans disappointed. In a recent post on his Twitter account, Latour revealed that he put a whole lot of concept design work into the book, as detailed in four character sketches, complete with story notes.

Reflecting on the series as a whole, the writer added, "It didn't get to be what I wanted. But I'm fairly happy w/ these [sketches]." The aforementioned sketches include two future versions of Idie Okonkwo, one giving her a distinctive Janelle Monae-style haircut and another showing her as the Horseman of Death.

The other pieces also seem to have had some strong musical influences in their creation, with the future Quentin Quire described as being "Kanye + Quitely" in the writer's notes, while Evan Sabahnur -- the second coming of the X-Men villain Apocalypse -- is transformed into "2Pacalypse." The character might not bear a close resemblance to the classic 90s rapper, but he certainly rocks his bulky coat and armor combo.
