Wolverine: The Long Night has been described as a mystery that uses fantastical elements from the Marvel Universe. The series is written by Green Arrow and Teen Titans writer Benjamin Percy, who explained in the official press release that "this is a story about deception, unreliability, identity, atonement and man in the wild and the wild in man.”

Dan Silver, vice president, head of platforms and content for Marvel New Media, spoke about the excitement surrounding the project and Marvel's future. “We are thrilled with the enthusiasm for this project from our fans and the podcast community," Silver said. He also mentioned that they "look forward to exploring the medium in the future.”

The production team includes Brendan Baker (Love & Radio) and sound designer Chloe Prasinos (Reply All). Daniel Fink of Marvel and Jenny Radelet of Stitcher are producing the series.
