WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Power Pack #5 by Ryan North, Nico Leon, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC's Travis Lanham, on sale now.

The Power Pack are not in a good place right now. Between the government watching their every move with scrutiny and their abilities being stolen by their would-be mentor, the Powers kids are entirely powerless. However, the team of siblings are also quick to get back on their feet, and a lack of powers isn't going to keep them from being the heroes they were always meant to be.

Although they've been drained of their powers there are still plenty of ways for the Power Pack to fight back. To do this, the team turns to their new mentor, Wolverine, who is more than happy to do whatever he can to get the kids back in fighting shape. This requires Logan to play a role he isn't particularly used to, as he's going to have to be the villain of a very special show the Power Pack has recently scripted. To really sell it, Logan even needed a costume change, and the Power Pack has already taken care of everything. With cameras rolling and tensions high, Wolverine introduces the world to his brightly colored, super-secret, evil twin brother: Wolvermean.

Logan and the Power Pack put on the best show they can, knowing full well that wherever he is, the Wizard was sure to be watching. With a few flourishes and at least half a dozen fog machines, the Power Pack looks like they're all back to normal as they play out their scripted battle with this dastardly new villain.

Almost as soon as the action has really picked up, the battle was over, and the Powers siblings are whisked back to the Wizard's lab by the enraged supervillain. Incensed that they kept even an iota of their powers from him, the Wizard turns on the machine that he used to steal their abilities in the first place, and he's left to watch his ill-gotten gains return to their rightful owners. It seems that putting on a play wasn't the only help Wolverine offered the Power Pack, as the night before he guided them through breaking into the Wizard's lair and reversing the output on his equipment.

Wolverine has always had a soft spot for kids, and over the course of his long and sordid career, there have been more than a few times when he became a mentor to someone who needed it. This could be because of the traumas associated with his personal history with children, or it could be because of Logan's own traumatic upbringing, if not both.

Whatever the reason, nothing has ever kept Logan from being there for the next generation looking for someone to guide them, and the fact that he was happy being filmed in a taped-on costume made from purple construction paper is just the cherry on top.
