When people tell you who some of their favorite X-Men are, one name always seems to come out, and that's Wolverine. There's a reason he got his own spin-off series, and it's not just that Hugh Jackman as Logan is one of the greatest casting jobs in the last decade. No, it's because the character is insanely popular.RELATED: 10 Biggest Mistakes Wolverine Ever Made (That We Can Learn From)Few X-Men have the gruffiness and sheer brutality that he does. Some of the better stories in the franchise all have him as one of the main characters. Heck, the best movie in the series is Logan, a flick that is often considered superior to the comic. There's a reason they call him the best at what he does, and these cosplay live up to that name.

10 Stogie

Nothing completes a Wolverine cosplay quite like a stogie between the fingers or wedged in the corner of their mouth. Ricklegendary follows that line of thinking, using the cigar to top off what is already an excellent cosplay. It looks like it's made of a mix of leather and cloth, with rubber used on the ears.

What's pretty cool about this one is he doesn't have the claws, preferring to do the retracted look. That's a decision more should consider, given how difficult the claws are to pull off well. Not having them doesn't detract from the outfit at all either.

9 The Original

When you think of the classic Wolverine attire, this is what you think of. It's more than just the yellow, blue and black, it's the spandex. That said, most cosplayers shy away from it because it can look cheap and not many people can pull it off well. Jonathan Carroll is one of the few that can.

Not only does he pull off the look, even having the blue tights, but he's got the body of Wolverine. His arms are huge, scaring off anyone who might make fun of the outfit. From this distance, the claws look like they are actually coming out of his knuckles as well.

8 Bloodlust

Rafa Oliveira looks like a Wolverine who's been overcome with blood lust, losing all semblance of his right mind. He wouldn't be able to tell friend from foe, nor would he care. The blood and grime staining both his outfit and his hands show that, doing a great job of hinting at the brutality those claws brought onto someone.

The lack of pupils is very unnerving as well, playing into him being a pure animal. The fangs do as well, a touch that you won't see in very many Wolverine cosplay. They make it seem like he'd rip out someone's neck if his claws couldn't get the job done.

7 Wolverine And Summers

The strangeness of seeing Captain America's shield in Cyclops hands aside, this is absolutely incredible looking. Dancinfool82 killed it with a modern take on the classic looking colors. Gone are the spandex, and in is the metal plating. He looks like he's wearing body armor, ready to not only take on Magneto but lead SWAT in a raid of a drug den.

His two unnamed buddies are nothing to sneeze at either. Cable's peeled away skin is movie quality good, as is Cyclop's visor. All three of these cosplay would be right at home in a movie during Bishop or Cable's time, where the world is a war zone. It really makes you wish we had a movie like that, since Days of Future Past only touched the surface.

6 Chug Away

Rarely do we post the same person twice, but this picture of Dancinfool82 stopping to get a brew is too perfect to pass up. It's so in character for Logan, the alcohol swilling animal that he is. After a hard day of fighting the forces of evil, you could see him knocking back a twelve pack.

The close up shows just how good the claws are as well. Claws are the most important part of the cosplay and the most difficult to get right, too often looking either too exaggerated or cheap. These not only look great but seem like they could actually slash a hole across your chest if you angered him.

5 Old Meets New

Old school meets new school here as classic Wolverine meets the man who helped carry the movie franchise. Unfortunately, the account attached to the Deviantart was deactivated, but one of the cosplayers was named brokephi316. It's always a shame when cosplayers give up on social media, but understandably, life happens.

Regardless, both sets of cosplay are pretty well done though the claws on the movie version are a tad tacky looking, especially when next to the other cosplayers. It's one of those examples mentioned earlier, some times it's better to not have them. Still, it's rock-solid otherwise.

4 Relaxed

Few cosplayers can pull off looking like an actual actor, but Michael Trefay comes really close to it. He's closer in look to Hugh than a great many Elvis lookalikes, that's for sure. He isn't a replica obviously, but the closeness in image helps elevate what's a pretty simple cosplay of Logan in more casual garb.

Beyond just his resemblance, his claws are phenomenally done. Honestly, it's hard to tell how they are even done, picture giving you a clear view of what looks like them sprouting out between his knuckles. No matter how it's done, it presents the look you want if you are going to rock the adamantium.

3 Lightning Storm

The effects in this picture are incredible, everything looking genuine aside from the crackling lightning. While backgrounds can go over the top at times, they can add a sense of professionalism to images like this one. If you are going through this much trouble for the picture, you're going to put just as much care into your cosplay.

That is certainly the case here as Javier Paredes kills it with a more Logan centric look rather than a traditional Wolverine. His mutton chops are spot on, claws looking like they were made of real metal. Add in the look on his face, and this looks like it could be a still from a final battle in a movie.

2 Father And Daughter

Wolverine and X-23's relationship in the comics didn't get off to the best of starts, but the way he slowly became a father figure to her is one of his better character arcs. Any time you can get Wolverine to realistically show an emotional side, you've done your job as a writer. Strong characters at their weakest, is when they are at their best.

That header isn't just about Laura and Logan either, pair cosplayed by a real-life father and daughter team. Chris Weyer is Wolverine, and Ocena Weyer is X-23. It's always amazing when you see families cosplay together. It's such a boon any time you can share hobbies with your loved ones. Both of the characters are perfectly done as well, Ocena, in particular, making one of the better X-23's.

1 Taking Up The Mantle

While most think of Logan when it comes to Wolverine, he's not the only one that has taken on the mantle. When he met his temporary demise at the end of Death of Wolverine, Laura Kinney aka X-23 took up the mantle, following in her surrogate father's footsteps. Both his death and what followed were incredibly well done, some of Marvel's better work in the last 5-6 years.

Cosplay itself is great, fully going for Laura as Wolverine rather than just a female Wolverine, remembering that she only has two claws in each hand. The ears are really well done, as are the claws. Best of all may be that look though, stern and in charge of her emotions.
