When it comes down to a fight, few movie heroes can match up with the brutality, instinct, and sheer force of Hugh Jackman's monstrous mutant. Wolverine is one of Marvel's most popular and well-known characters, and for good reason -- Weapon X has been part of numerous iconic storylines in comic books and on the big screen.

Fantasy matchups are always fun to imagine, and with crossovers in comics, video games, and other media, fans have gotten to see their favorite adamantium-aided hero face off against some legendary personas. Though outside the rules and relative safety of the Marvel Universe, there are plenty of movie heroes who would give Logan a serious run for his money.

10 Wolverine Wouldn't Want To Stick Around For A Deathmatch With Dutch

Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dutch in Predator

Arnold Schwarzenegger's cigar-chomping hero may lack any powers of the supernatural variety, yet this master mercenary managed to take down the perfect hunter in Predator.

The terrifying alien Predator massacred Dutch's entire team of big-bicep brutes, leaving Arnie's army man the last one standing and giving him the opportunity to really prove himself as a warrior. Wolverine may have some serious regeneration skills, but he does bleed. And if it bleeds, Dutch can kill it.

9 The Dark Knight Is The Real Deal

Batman the Dark Knight

Gotham's protector is no stranger to dealing with the weird and wonderful when it comes to his opponents. The Dark Knight may be a mere human, but he's one equipped with an incredible intellect and a glorious selection of gadgets.

When it comes to pure physicality, Batman did take one brutal beatdown at the hands of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, so perhaps all the money in the world would not be enough to buy The Bat a victory against Wolverine.

8 Logan Would Have His Claws Full With Remus Lupin

David Thewlis' wise wizard from the Harry Potter series has extensive knowledge when it comes to spells to quell the dark arts, though the real main event matchup here would be Wolverine in a primal battle of beasts against Remus Lupin in werewolf form.

It would likely get bloody quick, and wouldn't be far removed from a scene usually featured in a David Attenborough nature documentary. Lupin has fought the Death Eaters more than once, but putting down a shiny clawed mutant is a very different situation.

7 Beatrix Kiddo Could Dish Out Damage Against Wolverine

The Bride gets ready to attack using her katana

The deadliest woman in the world could have Logan looking like a human pincushion with a few swipes of her samurai sword. Beatrix Kiddo, former assassin and hero of Quentin Tarantino's deliciously violent Kill Bill movies, would prove to be a most formidable foe for Wolverine.

Black Mamba is all about vengeance, so without proper motivation, she may see little point in slicing up the X-Men's moodiest mutant. Put Uma Thurman's warrior to the test, though, and she wouldn't think twice about adding Wolverine to her list.

6 Kham's Kicks Could Really Put That Adamantium Skeleton To The Test

For those unfamiliar, Tony Jaa's bone-breaking boxer is one of cinema's most skilled martial artists. A man with the athleticism of an Olympic gymnast and punching power that would make Mike Tyson envious, Kham from The Protector is a master at taking down opponents much larger and more powerful than himself.

A lack of superpowers would leave Kham at a disadvantage, and Muay Thai can only go so far against sharp claws. Still, Wolverine would never want to make the mistake of stealing this guy's elephant.

5 Beating Luke Skywalker Would Difficult For Logan

No Jedi mind tricks would be needed in this fight, as Luke Skywalker's saber would surely saw Wolverine in half given the chance. That would take some rigorous regeneration to come back from.

Lightsaber skills aside, Mark Hamill's legendary character has the force, and while Logan has faced somewhat similar powers in his time, Luke Skywalker is on a different level when it comes to manipulating energy fields. Hugh versus Hamill would be a box-office brawl, but it's hard to see anyone stopping one of the galaxy's greatest Jedi.

4 John Rambo Will Give Wolverine A War He Won't Believe

Rambo Saves The POWs

Logan can count himself lucky that he was on the same side as John Rambo during the Vietnam War. Sylvester Stallone's traumatized war veteran is unstoppable when it comes to jungle warfare, and he's also no stranger to having the skin sliced off his back and carrying on the fight.

Weapon X has the mutant abilities on his side, yet counting out Colonel Trautman's favorite soldier is never a good idea. If Wolverine is sent after John Rambo, a body bag might be necessary.

3 Riddick Could Rapidly Turn Weapon X's Lights Out

riddick Furyan

The Furyan who's not afraid of the dark, Vin Diesel's behemoth badass is most deadly with a blade in hand, though he's capable of putting any weapon he gets his mitts on to good use. He's no stranger to danger, and if Richard B. Riddick manages to kill the lights during a scuffle with Wolverine, it would undoubtedly be Logan's last stand.

Mixing up krav maga, hapkido, and ninjutsu, this mercenary has a near Ph.D.-worthy education in the school of hand-to-hand combat. Even if Weapon X's physicality is tough to match, Riddick versus Logan would make for a true clash of the tussle titans.

2 Whoever Wolverine Is, John Wick Will Kill Him

If enough bullets are fired at Logan's adamantium-riddled body, he might be stopped. Keanu Reeves' uber assassin certainly fits the bill as a man with sure-fire shooting skills to take on this task.

John Wick's kill count currently stands at an outstanding 299 corpses, but it can become 300 if he has a good reason for it. If he and Wolverine were at odds and John Wick managed to lure Logan inside a neon-soaked nightclub, it might just be game over for Weapon X.

1 The T-800 Would Happily Provide Logan With His Own Judgement Day

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

A hyperalloy endoskeleton versus Wolverine's adamantium frame would make for a fascinating fight. Cyberdyne's model T-800 is exceptionally skilled with all manner of weapons, though, and if he's readily equipped with the blasters of his time, it may just be the end for Wolverine.

When it comes to the showdown, Logan's animalistic instinct would surely trump that of a machine's processing power. And if the mutant managed to get the jump on the cyborg, those adamantium claws would likely slice and dice their way to giving Skynet a terrible advantage in the war against mankind.
