Knowledge Waits is a feature where I just share some bit of comic book history that interests me.

Last week, I did a bit about how many months in a row in the early 1990s did Wolverine have at least one guest appearance. My buddy Keith M. wrote in to ask:

What about most Wolverine appearances in one month? Five, ten, everything Marvel put out that month?

I only went with print editions (and only new comics. No reprints) and if there was a tie, I'd give it to the one that had the most unique titles (so if two months both had 20 appearances, I'd give it to the one who spread those 20 appearances over 20 separate comics rather than one that had 20 appearances but had double issues of Wolverine, double issues of Uncanny, etc.)

Anyhow, I believe that this is the answer! In March 2009 (books that came out in January), Wolverine appeared in TWENTY-FOUR Marvel print comic books! There are so many comics here that I'm splitting it up over two pages...

In one of the most clever appearances on the list, Jeff Parker had Wolverine be part of a team in the future in Age of Sentry #5 as "The Immortal One"...

He appeared in a back-up story in Amazing Spider-Man: Extra #2, where he spends Spider-Man's birthday with him...

He was part of the main cast of Astonishing X-Men #26...

He was part of the Avengers in Avengers/Invaders #8....

He guest-starred as part of X-Force in Cable #10...

Captain America did a nice tribute to a fallen World War II hero and invited all of the superheroes he knew (including Wolverine) in Captain America: Theater of War - America the Beautiful #1...

The X-Men came to San Francisco, which is where the Eternals were set, in Eternals #7...

All of the various Avengers teams guest-starred in the debut of Dan Slott's Mighty Avengers #21...

Wolverine was a regular cast member in New Avengers #49....

Wolverine guested in the finale of this NYX: No Way Home follow-up miniseries...

You would almost think that there was a movie about Wolverine and Gambit coming out, due to this Weapon X: First Class #3 (the conclusion of a brief miniseries)...

This was a cool series where we would see untold tales featuring Wolverine and Kitty back when she just joined the X-Men. This is Wolverine: First Class #11...

Go to the next page for the rest of the comics...

Jason Aaron wrote this fun series showing Wolverine having to clean up some old business in San Francisco before the X-Men moved there. This was Wolverine: Manifest Destiny #5...

This was Wolverine's only regular book set in main continuity at the time, Wolverine: Origins #32. So it's even more remarkable that he had 24 appearances this month...

Wolverine/Power Pack was a fun team-up series. Here's #3...

Wolverine: Switchback #1 was just a random one-shot...

Wolverine was a regular cast member in X-Force #11...

Wolverine was a major figure in X-Infernus #4, which brought Magik back to the fold...

Wolverine appeared in flashbacks in X-Men: Legacy #220, as Rogue traveled to the X-Men's old Australia base...

X-Men: Manifest Destiny #5 was the final issue of a series showing how all of the X-Men characters are adjusting to the X-Men moving to the West Coast...

X-Men and Spider-Man #3 was part of these miniseries showing Spider-Man interacting with different teams over the years. This was obviously set in the period where Ben Reilly was Spider-Man...

X-Men vs. Hulk #1 was a one-shot written by Chris Claremont showing an old fight between the X-Men and the Hulk...

Wolverine guest-starred in the finale of this Storm series that had to be called X-Men: Worlds Apart #4 to help it sell better...

Finally, Wolverine appeared in Young X-Men #10....

So there you go, Kevin!
