Even if the X-Men don't realize it yet, X-Force's recent incursions into the Orchis Forge have backfired. Instead of gaining insight into how to defeat the organization dedicated to the extermination of mutantkind, their repeated infiltration attempts have given Orchis one of the most valuable commodities in the Marvel Universe: adamantium.
As Jonathan Hickman, Valerio Schiti, David Curiel and VC's Joe Sabino revealed in Inferno #1, X-Force has launched several failed missions to destroy Nimrod or Orchis' solar space station. However, this resulted in the copies of Wolverine being killed. While Logan was quickly resurrected on Earth, the adamantium skeletons of his dead bodies were recovered, and Orchis now has access to at least six fully coated adamantium skeletons. The potential ramifications of this are staggering. Orchis could produce untold amounts of weaponry with this practically priceless resource, which also highlights just how dangerous Wolverine's hands-on approach can be.
The Krakoans have been trying to stem Orchis' growing influence in networking the anti-mutant forces of Earth, but their attempts thus far have only slightly inconvenienced their foes. Even worse, those actions may have played into Otchis' hands, helping to portray the mutants as aggressors who need to be put down. The only solution the X-Men could think of was to cut out the root entirely. The Orchis Forge of course is orbiting the sun and nearly impenetrable, even more so since the reactivation of Nimrod. Ironically, the Sentinel's activation prompted more frequent attacks on the Orchis Forge, as it represents a potential tipping point for the survival of mutantkind.
Since the founding of Krakoa, the X-Men have had the ability to revive their fallen fellow mutants through a cloning process that are perfect copies of their original hosts, complete with artificially preserved and reinserted memories. The X-Men even have a supply of the unbreakable, incredibly rare metal adamantium available to coat Logan's skeleton upon his resurrections. Wolverine's attacks on Orchis have usually resulted in a quick death by disintegration. These wiping away the organic parts of Wolverine but leaving behind the only thing of use to Orchis: the adamantium.
This seems like a major lapse in judgment on X-Force's part. To leave such valuable material in the hands of Orchis and then to keep sending more could be disastrous. It's one of the most durable substances in the Marvel Universe, and the X-Men have already given Orchis at least six fully intact skeletons to utilize as its members wish. This metal could be used to enhance Nimrod, turning him into an even more lethal guardian of their base and potentially endangering mutantkind's future.
This all shows just how dangerous Krakoa's willingness to use clones is now. While it effectively eliminates the threat of death, the X-Men's enemies are more than happy to harvest the gifts mutants have for themselves. This group is no exception and is actually better equipped to do so than perhaps any other villainous cabal the mutants have faced in the past. While Wolverine has never shied away from a fight, his gung-ho nature and willingness to jump into the fray is apparently backfiring monumentally. With each failed mission he leads, Logan only gives Orchis more adamantium.
Instead of providing the X-Men with useful intel or even helping the mutants to adapt better to the situation, these attacks have actually improved Nimrod's reaction time, making him more efficient and giving Orchis a valuable resource in the form of multiple adamantium skeletons. While it's not clear what they plan to do with all of this adamantium yet, Wolverine's claws may end up being the source of the X-Men's downfall.
