WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for All-New Wolverine #28 by Tom Taylor, Juann Cabal, Nolan Woodard and Cory Petit, on sale now.

Laura Kinney's family tree is what some people would call "complicated." For starters, she's the cloned daughter of the X-Men's Wolverine, which also makes her the half-sister of Logan's son, Daken. Laura recently discovered that Alchemax Genetics created clones of her, three of whom (Bellona, Zelda and Gabby) dubbed themselves "The Sisters." While Zelda ultimately died from the experiments performed on her, and Bellona exited the team, Laura has been left to care for her kid "sister."

When Logan died, Laura took on her father's mantle by becoming the All-New Wolverine, vowing not to be the killer she was raised to be. Though she's young, Gabby fights alongside Laura and brings with her a sense of excitement and youthful enthusiasm -- a stark contrast to Laura's more serious demeanor. The two sisters make for a great pairing, but as Gabby has mentioned on more than one occasion, she's missing one final piece before she can become a full-fledged superhero: A cool codename.

Gabby's Superhero Name Is...

Finally, the wait is over and Gabby gets the codename she's been longing for in All-New Wolverine #28 from the creative team of Tom Taylor, Juann Cabal, Nolan Woodard and Cory Petit. Making the moment even more special, Gabby's older brother Daken is the person who gives it to her. From this day forward, Gabby shall now be known as Honey Badger.

As you can tell from the image above, Gabby is pretty excited about her official codename. As her imagination begins to run wild, Gabby is surrounded by some of Wolverine's classic covers from his 40-year history... with some slight modifications. Instead of the covers bearing the title "Wolverine," they now read "Honey Badger." Each cover substitutes Gabby in for her grandfather in a game of switcheroo. For example, the cover for Logan's first appearance in 1974's Incredible Hulk #181 now shows the newly-named Honey Badger squaring off against the jade giant.

So how did Daken settle on the name Honey Badger? Laura, Gabby and Daken are being hunted by a group calling themselves the Orphans of X. This mysterious group is after the location of the Murumasa Blade, the only weapon powerful enough to counteract the heroes' healing factor and kill them. The Orphans of X used a clone of Laura's mother to trick her into giving up the location of the blade, leaving the trio on the run.

As they make their way to Japan aboard the X-Men's Blackbird, the jet's pilot Danger (the robotic manifestation of the X-Men's Danger Room), makes her presence known to her passengers. After introducing herself, Gabby comments how Danger is an awesome name, and how she "can't just be 'Gabby' anymore." Without missing a beat, Daken names her Honey Badger. Asked why, Daken responds, "Because you're sweet and you have claws" -- the perfect description of his kid sister.

Gabby's new name comes at just the right time in her early career as a hero. Once the Orphans of X threat is over with, Gabby will gain membership on her first official X-Men team when she joins her sister in X-Men Red, under the leadership of the resurrected adult Jean Grey.

X-Men Red's adventures will also be written by Tom Taylor, so if you've been following Honey Badger in All-New Wolverine, you'll definitely want to pick up X-Men Red when it launches in February.
