A slow anticipation has begun to build for Hugh Jackman's final claw-popping performance as Wolverine in Fox's untitled "Wolverine 3." Filming for "Wolverine 3" wrapped in August, which means the promotional machine should start ramping up pretty soon. In fact, director James Mangold has suggested just that on his Twitter account. When a fan asks the "Wolverine 3" director for an update, Mangold teased that he is "working on it every day in edit room," adding that "you'll hear and see things very soon."

@Law_of_4 Working on it every day in edit room, Vince. You'll hear and see things very soon. Glad you're pumped & I hope we surprise you.— Mangold (@mang0ld) August 25, 2016

As of now "Wolverine 3" has no working title -- could the first image released be the official logo? Or instead of an image, what if it's a teaser trailer showing off a grey-haired Wolverine? We did just learn that Mister Sinister will appear in "Wolverine 3" -- could our first look be of a pale white forehead with a ruby-red diamond in the middle of it?

As to where this first look could occur, there are many possibilities. Bryan Singer (director of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "X-Men: Apocalypse") is known for displaying behind-the-scene images on social media prior to a movie's release. Mangold could follow in Singer's footsteps -- especially since Mangold responded to an inquiry on Twitter. A teaser trailer could come paired with another Fox film, like Tim Burton's "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Women" or "Assassin's Creed."

There have been hints that Mangold's "Wolverine 3" will be loosely based on the "Old Man Logan" storyline from writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven. "Old Man Logan" is set in an alternate future where the villains have triumphed over the heroes, and Wolverine is an older, grizzled family man who prefers peace over violence. When those he loves are threatened, he embarks on a journey for vengeance.

"Wolverine 3" slashes its way into theaters on March 3, 2017.
