Wolfman, Wein sell comic book to Hollywood

Two comics veterans have scored a big one in Hollywood.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Marv Wolfman and Len Wein have sold their comic book concept "Gene Pool" to Helkon International Pictures, sister company Helkon SK, formerly known as Redbus, Tri-Pictures and Eagle Pictures for low-to-mid six figures. Wein and Wolfman will handle the scripting duties for the adaptation and the four companies will jointly produce the comic into a live-action, English-language feature film.

While "Gene Pool" the comic book may not have been published yet, it's expected to find a home shortly especially with news of this film deal. The Hollywood Reporter describes "Gene Pool" as "a team of reluctant heroes with superpowers who are thrown together for survival and mutual protection when they find themselves hunted and their normal existence in jeopardy."
