WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Wolf Like Me, now streaming on Peacock.

Peacock's Wolf Like Me ended its first season on a satisfying note as Isla Fisher's Mary gained acceptance for being a werewolf. Gary (Josh Gad) and his daughter, Emma, drove her home after she had a bloody outing, killing a couple bandits in the Outback, but they weren't scared at all. In fact, they were optimistic about being a tight-knit family, so let's break down how this sets up Season 2.

Gary And Mary Will Be Having A Kid in Season 2 of Wolf Like Me

Mary broke the news that she was pregnant, and while she considered an abortion, she opted against it. Season 2 can look at her trying to avoid eating the baby if she ever lost control, and what measures Gary will put in place. This could take a toll on Emma, as seeing Mary's more monstrous side might alienate her.

They'll need to build a cellar to keep Mary as well, or move into Mary's home, so this can change Emma's mood. She already had depression in the past over losing her mom, Lisa, to cancer, so this pregnancy will be a big test for her and how she adapts to a new family. Gary will also have a lot to handle by taking care of the pack, hoping Emma and Mary's close bond doesn't crumble.

Families May Need To Be Told The Truth in Wolf Like Me Season 2

If Gary gets overwhelmed, he may need to either tell his own family in America, or Lisa's family in Australia. He would certainly need help from these adults, but knowing Mary's secret might have them viewing her as a monster, creating a lot of drama. It'd affect Gary and Mary's romance, as well as annoy Emma, who wouldn't want any outsiders casting aspersions on her family.

Another angle Season 2 can pursue is Mary bringing her family back into the fold. She cut everyone off as she moved Down Under to live in isolation, so whether it's parents or siblings who tracked her down, Mary and Gary will have a tricky time hiding the truth, or telling them when the time's right. Given that no one knows if the baby will be a werewolf too, it's going to be complicated deciding if the secret ought to be let out.

Keeping The Secret From Prying Eyes

Isla Fisher and Josh Gad in Wolf Like Me

So far, Wolf Like Me has kept things to Gary's inner-circle, but once doctors get involved doing tests on Mary, the truth may emerge about her and the baby. In addition, the media could follow up on the bandits that were mauled, leading to a manhunt if Mary or Gary left clues behind when they drove home. It's easy to envision investigators or cryptozoologists getting involved and tracking Mary down thereafter.

Interestingly, Mary admitted in her origin story that she ate an Italian family, so this case could be connected as well. Lastly, Mary said she devoured her husband years back when she first turned, but it could be that he fled and she ate someone else. If he goes on to track her down, he may be bitter seeing her attempt at a new, happy life, which might cause this mystery man to try to expose her new pack.

All six episodes of Wolf Like Me are available on Peacock.
