Ever since the short but sweet teaser trailer for Netflix's The Witcher was released back in July, the passionate fanbase has been clamoring for a second look at the dark fantasy adaptation. Thankfully, it appears that they won't have to wait that much longer.
Lucca Comics & Games announced on Instagram that The Witcher's showrunner, along with several of the show's stars will be appearing on a panel at this year's event which runs from Oct. 30 and Nov. 3. The actual Witcher panel will be held on Oct. 31. The post also announced that fans would see "The world preview of the @witchernetflix trailer," adding, "Along with meetings and panels with the creator of the series Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and the two young protagonists Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan."
The previously released teaser offered a lot for fans to dissect and analyze, but there were still a few features of the upcoming series that were notably absent. Fans are still waiting for a preview of the show's soundtrack, which, according to Hissrich, will capture the Slavic roots of Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels, unlike the seemingly generic music used in the teaser.
There is also speculation that the upcoming trailer will finally provide audiences with the official release date and either confirm or disprove current speculation that The Witcher will air on or around December 20 or, according to a seemingly debunked leak, December 17.
Sapkowsky himself is also expected to attend the event, which will apparently see the Italian city of Lucca outfitted to appear as part of The Continent from the Witcher novels. A second panel will be held on Nov. 1, featuring executive producer Tomek Baginski, costume designer Tim Aslam and production designer Andrew Laws.
The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. The series will be available to stream on Netflix this December.
