The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich recently posted a beautiful photo from the set of Season 2, along with a message of hope.

The Season 2 set image, which was posted on Twitter, showed sunbeams peeking through a forest. "One month ago on the set of ⁦The Witcher⁩," Hissrich said. "The sun will rise again. Until then, stay home and stay safe." It was revealed in March that The Witcher's production would be delayed because of coronavirus (COVID-19) and, as of now, there is no word on when it will restart.

Based on The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski, the first season of the Netflix series dropped on December 20, 2019 and quickly became one the streaming service's most-watched shows. The series stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra, who are all returning for the second season.

A number of new characters will also be introduced in The Witcher Season 2, including an aristocrat named Nigel (Kristofer Hivju), the Bruxa called Vereena (Agnes Bjorn) and many more. Currently, there is no official release date for Season 2.

The coronavirus pandemic has caused several production delays over the last few months. The World Health Organization provided a list of things that can be done to prevent the virus' spread, including hand-washing and social distancing.
