Of all the scenes and moments in The Witcher book series and video games, none are most famous than the bathtub set scene from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While the series is not based on the video games, showrunner Lauren Hissrich still thought it was important to include the moment in her new series.

"Obviously, we are not adapting the video games. The video games are an adaption of the books too, so they are pulling from the same source material we are," she told Collider. "But I also know, being an American myself, that a lot of [people], especially American audiences, are mostly familiar with the games. They did not even know the books existed. So they are part of our fanbase and it’s just a little wink and a nod to them to tell them that we see them, too.”

As Hissrich mentioned, many Witcher fans are only familiar with the video games and are unaware that both the games and the drama are based on a book series. The books were written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. There are eight books in the series, with the latest one releasing in 2013.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. The series is available on Netflix.
