It won't be long now until we see The Witcher on screen.

On Instagram, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich announced that filming for Season 1 had wrapped with a photo that shows her resting and relaxing in front of a mural of a wolf head. "And that’s a wrap on season one! So thrilled, so proud, so tired," she captioned the post.

Hissrich was open with fans during the writing process and the early development stages of the series. However, details surrounding the characters and events remain scarce, with just a few leaked images and videos from the set to guide fan expectations. Many believe that the first season will adapt creator Andrzej Sapkowski's short story collection The Last Wish.

One of the most unique aspects of the series is the moral ambiguity contained within each story. The world of The Witcher isn't black and white and the official synopsis on Netflix seems to reflect that: "The witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts."

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. The series will be available to stream this fall.
